This is a review of this website from bmwcar magazine, published by unity media in the uk. I've only been using this site for a month or so, so well done to everyone else on here, who has made it what it is. (i did scan it into my computer, but its only a picture. i cant find my OCR software, new computer see) The Concept Billed as a website for 318ti enthusiasts, this is a forum dedicated to the UK’s most popular E36Compact. The Content Using a familiar forum layout, 318ti.org packs in all the usual sections that you’d expect from a good forum. The garage is a general section containing a lounge area for general discussion, a section for interesting ebay auctions, a buying section where you can get opinions on a 18ti you might be looking to buy, a racing discussion section as well as a music area. The technical area has separate sections for just about every aspect of the car, form wheel and tyre choice, to suspension through to maintenance and differential discussion. There are also tips on car care, regional forums and classifieds. There’s also a knowledgebase section, a gallery and a registry. The Verdict What’s most surprising is just how popular this website is – clearly the compact community is bigger than you’d have thought. What’s also surprising is how technical a lot of the forum is, with a number of hands-on guides in the knowledgebase. The site itself is easy to navigate and easy on the eye to boot, which is a plus if you’re into your compact; you’ll find plenty here to keep yourself entertained. If you just want a chat, the garage is for you but the technical section is packed full of great advice and is genuinely useful. The chances are, If you’ve got a 318ti based query, the guys and girls on here will have answered it at some stage. If you’re into your tuning, there’s masses of information here which will allow you to turn your humble compact into something a bit special. There’s also the ti companion which, when finished, should be a very comprehensive guide to the ti in all its forms, thought at the moment it’s disappointingly lacking in useful information. On the whole thought, what a great site this is- plenty of active users, a positively bustling community and a great place to go if a 318ti is your car of choice | | | 01-29-2006, 05:15 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | This has made by day. No, my life. I've had 318ti.org for +5 years. It started as a UBB board that which was hacked. Then phpBB for a few years, and now this. Ironically vBulletin started out as UBB too. Now I see new users everday. +250 people check in at least once every 10 days. Thank you so much for sharing that. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-29-2006, 05:47 PM | #3 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | that's great and validates all you've done/created here steven (not that you needed to see it in writing, it's obvious from what happens here DAILY). i'd like to thank all the people who've contributed as well that have made this place what it is. way to go people! __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts ![](image.php?s=7505501df4518ceb8224acf1306536ab&u=1131&type=sigpic&dateline=1197516154) 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 01-29-2006, 05:53 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | top marks! i'd like to thank cali-ti for his constant harrassment on braking.... i have FINALLY ordered the bits to rebuild the callipers __________________ 1995 BMW 316i Cosmos Black Mods: • Magnex Cat-Back Exhaust • Smoked Corner Lights + Repeators • M3 17" Wheels • De-Baffled Air Box • AC HandBrake Handle and Gear Knob • DEPO Euro Epsiloids + Predator Chronium Rings • Chrome Interior bits •IE Poly-Urethane RSFMs • Kenwood Power Series Audio • Powder Coated e36 325 Front Callipers • Sports Seats | | | 01-29-2006, 07:04 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: UK Posts: 312 | congrats on the new found fame Steven I'm sure everyone here will join me in thanking you for creating & maintaining this place.
