Default I've bought a Ti ! Things i should know ?

Hi,
Just bought my mates yr 2000 318 ti m3 sport 2dr ,i think thats the correct terminology anyway !
He's had it 18 months and had nothing go wrong with it so hopefully alls going to be well. However it has had 10 owners ,would this be considered unusually high ? Got some service history but of course with that many owners it may well have had a few skipped. Polished her up today and looking lovely, drives well and no complaints from me so far.
However

Question is for those in the know should i be looking at getting any work done, its done 110,000 miles , im kind of paranoid about cambelts etc but understand it has a tension chain, would that be right ? and do i need to do anything about it ?
Is there anything i should be looking for ?
car has cruise control ,is that standard ?

sorry for questions but i have to learn and this seems the ideal place.

Yeah 10 sounds a little high but just like any car as long as its been maintained and cared for you should have no worries. Just keep your eye on the basics such as belts, gaskets, ect. Check your plugs, wires, fluid levels just like any car. Not sure your age or how many previous cars you might have had or currently have but if you have some knowlege on general car care you should be fine. If you do come across something that has you boggled then just about everything you want to know is in the search. If that dosnt help give us a shout! Welcome to the site and enjoy your new ride! Post some pics of it when you get a chance.

These cars tend to oveheat, blow the headgasket and warp the head. I bought a 1996ti with 170k miles and a blown engine for less than $100. The engine has a melted plastic coolant pipe in the rear end of the engine. It also has plastic coolant pipes under the intake and in the front that can fail and overheat the car. Not sure about the 2000 model if they changed the design but have those checked and replaced.

Since you are in Europe and are talking about a 2000 model year, I'm not sure what you have there. Is it an E36 or E46? M44 engine?
Most of all... post some pics!!
