I have an EIP header and I'm wondering if it's worth my time intalling it. I read somewhere a while back that the stock manifold flows just fine. What are your opinions? __________________ | | | 03-25-2009, 03:19 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: South Central, MN Posts: 1,065 | anyone? __________________ | | | 03-25-2009, 03:27 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Never heard of an EIP header, do you have any more info on it? If I recall, the supersprint header was pretty pricey but one of the few that actually saw some gains. Otherwise, the stock header was pretty good from the factory. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 03-25-2009, 03:37 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Austin Posts: 3,059 | Stands for "Euro Import Performance". I'm not sure of the gains, since no one that I know has installed it. Check eiptuning.com. I say go for it. It wouldn't hurt. __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. Yeah, I didn't know they ever made a header for our cars, I assumed they just destroyed VWs. http://eipsucks.com/ They mostly destroy Subarus now apparently. I have read about some Z3 guys putting aftermarket headers on an M44 and feeling a loss of low end power. Search around, you'll find more info. I still can't find any info about EIP ever making a header for our cars, are you sure it's EIP? __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 03-25-2009, 04:35 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | I have not heard of any aftermarket header worthwhile for our M42/M44 engines... If someone has, please post up... Not worth the time/effort/money, IMO... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. Buddy said it was EIP...but like you, I wasn't able to find anything by them made for the m44/m42. Not even a discontinuation. None the less the header is designed to fit the m44. It was pretty much free....guess it wouldn't hurt to try. I should do a baseline, install it,and check the numbers. __________________ | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
