Default Footwell Lights stay on

Just picked up another 318ti yesterday and tonight when I started her up, the battery was weak. Then i jump started it and ect..

I realized when I locked the car, the front footwell lights stay on longer than I thought they would. Couldn't figure out the problem why so I disconnected the battery for the night.

Can someone tell me why they stay on? All doors are shut tightly...

Please help! Thanks

I suspect a door switch is indicating a door is still open.

Here is something to try. Climb in, close the doors, switch on the ignition, confirm the window controls work, switch off the ignition and then see if the window controls still work.

They shouldn't if the ZKE (central body electronics) senses if a door is open on a US model.

Does the car double-lock (disconnect the inner door handles so that they won't open a door)?

Sorry for the late reply: An UPDATE:

I unplugged both of the doors lock actuators and they weren't it so I did the trunk and that WAS THE problem! So i just removed it and fixed it. Glad still got my footwell to work properly.

Couldn't believe it because my other 318ti domelight stayed on due to the freaken trunk lock actuator: hate'm trunk locks.
