I'll be installing my MBQuarts and JL 300/4v2 this coming weekend along with some more RAAmat and Ensolite on the floors/doors. I still haven't been able to decide where I'll be mounting the 300/4. I don't like the idea of mounting it on a seat back, and haven't been able to decide another route I really like. I think the hatch/rear shelf limits the possibilities so I'm curious what my other TI guys are doing. Thanks guys. | | | 02-19-2008, 02:30 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | screwed onto the back of the back seat __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 02-19-2008, 02:38 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I haven't put my system in yet but when I do my amp will be bolted to the floor in front of my sub, not the best option for trunk space though | | | 02-19-2008, 05:03 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | I have a slim truck box that fits perfect in the Ti. Well the back of it has the space where you could fit the amp it fits just right. I'll see if i can post a pic tomorrow. | | | 02-19-2008, 05:26 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | i hooked mine up and threw it in the back...i think it slides around in the corners...must be made by Timex...'cause it keeps on tickin'! also, i think it's covered with a blanket and a box of new parts. lol __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 02-19-2008, 05:44 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | i was planning on screwing mine to my box but to get to my spare tire i have to take my box out(its tooo big lol) so i decided to put it on the seat and now its much easier to undo the 2 speaker wires than the power, ground and remote wire. __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 02-25-2008, 12:57 AM | #7 | Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Davidsonville, MD Posts: 68 | Quote: Originally Posted by itsalifestyle800 when i first installed my amp, i had the intention of screwing it into the back seat in the trunk area, but i was so excited that i had installed it i put off actually screwing it in. Hope this helps. | I've been having a hard time whether or not I have the balls to just rip out the spare/tools/etc. to build my box into the floor. Then I could just build a false floor to hide both amps. I've never needed the spare but I'm sure the day I take it out I'd get a flat in the rain. | | | 02-25-2008, 01:01 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by Laxpunk2006 I've been having a hard time whether or not I have the balls to just rip out the spare/tools/etc. to build my box into the floor. I think this is the better option because there is no need to put any holes in your car. http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...m/DSC00456.jpg | | | 02-25-2008, 06:39 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Memphis, Tn Posts: 1,299 | Mine is screwed and mounted onto the top of my subwoofer box. Leaves plenty of room, great ventilation, and easy access to it if I need to change something. __________________ custom dual exhaust,M3 front and rear bumper, 10.4 inch roof mount drop screen, Viper alarm system, DSII's rims, M3 Vader Seats, M3 Mirrors, Carbon Fiber CAI, Smoked Corners, Side Markers, Leatherz armrests, black grilles 225k miles and still the Ti goes on | | | 09-25-2011, 11:04 PM | #11 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: United States Posts: 1 | I put mine in the spare tire toolbox compartment see pic | | | 09-26-2011, 02:11 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | Mines on top of my box.
