Default Seat Compatibility

I have a line on pair of front seats from a '92 325i. Will these fit in a ti?

Yes they should fit, but you may need to swap out your seat belt receptacles. There's two different styles, the older having a cable actuated SRS locking device and the newer having a pyrotechnic cartridge actuator. The wires are different between the two types. Also, MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED, both positive and negative terminals. Wait about 30 minutes after disconnecting the battery to unplug the wires under the seats. Only reconnect the battery AFTER both seats are fully installed and the wires are reconnected. Failure to do this will result in an airbag light that will need to be turned off by the dealer with a special tool.

Also note, the front seat belt receptacles are armed with an Automatic Locking Tensioner. This device retracts the recepticle about 2 inches in the event of an accident. 318ti's built up to 03/97 use a mechanical auto-locking mechanism(part#'s 72118167711 left and 72118167712 right) while models built after 03/97 use a pyrotechnic auto-locking mechanism (part#'s 72118221013 left and 72118221014 right).

Sort of the same topic....
Vader’s will fit the ti, correct? I believe various forum members already have this mod.
How about sedan rear seats? I heard it can be done but only the folding type.
My current arctic silver ti has the black leather bolsters with bluish/grey cloth. Also has black dash and cloth door panels.

This is what I’m trying to do:

-swap ti dash with black E36 sedan dash
-black vaders
-black door panels
-black rear passenger “door” panels
-Rear black leather seat. Should I use a ti black leather seat or try the sedan method as asked previously. I’m afraid the black leather ti seat will not match the front black vaders

Thanks....SB

Try to find a black leather Ti rear seat. It'll match just fine. I have dove vaders and I purchased a grey Ti rear seat, matches perfectly. The rest of my interior is black, I like the contrast. I plan on replacing the grey millpoint cloth on my door panels with dove colored leather eventually.

Are those coupe or sedan rear seats?

I notice the front seats have the handles to fold them forward, I'm assuming because of the odd color that they came out of the same donor car as the fronts so I'll say they're coupe seats
