Default Z3 rear sub frame and tires

I searched "Z3 rear sub frame" but didn't find anything here.

As per Jim's Ti swap manual, I got the entire rear sub frame installed on my ti from my Z3 donor. The wheels protrude out 1/4 inch more on either side than the ti's. I also purchased a set of SSR Comp wheels. The fronts are 17x7.5 +44 and the rears are 17x8 +40. I'm running Bilstien sports and H&R sports which drop the car 1.5 in the front and 1.25 in the rear. I asked Jim at tirerack.com which tires would be best for this specific setup.

He said "I would actually say that the 235/40R17 all the way around would be the best fit. That way you could rotate tires. If you rolled the fender lips and ran more negative camber the 245/40R17 would be a good size. You may have a 1/4" more room on the inside but you don't have any room left at the fender"

I not ready to roll fenders now and I do like the idea of being able to rotate with the same size but I'm having quite a time finding tires in that odd size. Is there another size tire that could work for this setup? Thanks in advance

Did you tell him that you had different sized wheels? The tires would look different on the front and rear because of the .5 inch width difference.

I run D-Forces 17x8.5 with 245/40/17 all round with Koni/H&R with ZERO rub and my fenders are not rolled.

Yes, I gave him the same explanation as I did here. Are you saying I could maybe get away with 235/45/17's or 245/40/17's? That would be great as there is more of a selection of tires to choose from. I'd hate to order new rubber only to return them, especially from an online store.
P.S. You think I'd be able to rotate with the same size tires? Or should I buy 2 sets of fronts and 2 sets of rear? Thanks again

Id properly stagger the tires since theyre staggered rims but you could put the same size tire all around if you really want to. I run 245/35 on my 18x9 and 285/30 also on my 18x9. A 245/40 fits pretty square with an 8" wide rim but varies from manufacturer to manufacturer on the actual appearance. It can look a little squished on a 7.5 or square up like the 8" its only .5"
