Posts: 21 | Rear wiper stripped? My rear wiper is suddenly acting funny. I use it all the time but now the arm seems to be stripped from the post that is connected to the wiper motor. I can't see any screws to remove the arm from the post, and I can't pull it off with brute force either. Am I screwed? Do I have to buy a whole new motor? Who's got ideas? __________________ 95 base ti Dinan performance chip and large throttle body, K&N cone filter, Supersprint exhaust, Momo Short Shift kit, bavauto springs and bilstein touring shocks. | | | 02-10-2007, 05:05 AM | #2 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Lafayette, Or. I'm sure at least one of you has dealt with this before. __________________ 95 base ti Dinan performance chip and large throttle body, K&N cone filter, Supersprint exhaust, Momo Short Shift kit, bavauto springs and bilstein touring shocks. | | | 02-10-2007, 06:00 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Charlottesville, VA Posts: 234 | Pull up the plastic cap at the base of the wiper arm and tighten the nut with a properly sized wrench when the wiper is parked in the correct position. If that doesn't work, you have other problems. -Paul | | | 02-11-2007, 07:59 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Lafayette, Or. Posts: 21 | That thing is a cap you can pull off? Now I feel retarded. Still, I'm lucky to have people like you around to help me cope. I'm gonna try it tomorrow. Thanks to the extreme! __________________ 95 base ti Dinan performance chip and large throttle body, K&N cone filter, Supersprint exhaust, Momo Short Shift kit, bavauto springs and bilstein touring shocks. | | | 02-17-2007, 10:35 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Boston MA Posts: 221 | You need to use a 13mm socket on wrench. I just tighten mine today. __________________ 1998 BMW 318ti M-Tech Sport Silver (Gone to member leeko617) CURRENT: 2015 BMW X1, 2004 BMW 330ci Convertible, 1998 Porsche Boxster, 2001 BMW 525i Touring GONE: 2000 Audi A4, 2002 VW Passat, 1985 VW Cabriolet | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
