I don't believe there are any actual statistics on particular models.
Somewhere around here is a scan of total worldwide produced.

M-Version? do you mean sport package? All Sport packaged equipped cars got M-tech look front and rear.

I am not sure what the difference between the M version, and sport package was. Mine has the M logo on the sides of the vehicle so is it the M-version??

There's no such thing as an "M version". You have a Sport package which includes the M badging, M technik bumpers, suspension, 16" wheels and sport interior. As said before, there's nothing rare about it. If your car was a '95 and had these things it would be called a Club Sport and would be somewhat rare as they only made 300 of them. Many people make the mistake of calling their '96+ Sport Ti's club sports, but rest assured the Club Sport was only made in '95. And while your Sport model may not be rare, it's still a sought after model since most people prefer the looks of the M Technik trim. They're not very easy to find for sale, especially with a manual transmission, decent mileage and a good service history.

From the e30 M3, evolved the e36.
They were "Keepin it Real" when they introduced the 318ti ClubSport in '95 and the 318ti Sports from '96 to '99.
After that... well nothing else really matters.
