engine knocking and rough idle

The other day I started my car and it started shaking and knocking pretty loudly. The car has trouble accelerating and I had to rev the engine to keep it from dying while I idled.

I know I have an oil leak issue so I thought it needed oil and added a little oil and an oil leak stopper... ( mostly in a vain effort ). but the car is still shaking and knocking and has poor accelerating. it seems fine when the engine is reving high like 3k-4k.

I googled it and got a plethora of possibilities and I was hoping someone might be able to narrow this issue down for me... any help would be greatly appreciated.

It will really run like crap if there is a major vacume leak like a spit air tube from the air-box to the throttle body....

Bad plug wire.

start withteh easy stuff its either air or spark or fuel.
