e39 m52b28 to 97 318ti?

hello! my 1997 bmw 528i was recently totaled an accident. The damage was all to the body and the engine still runs fine. There is a 1997 318ti with a blown motor for sale on the local craigslist. I was eondering if it would be possible to fit my old bmw engine into the 318ti. I am confident it my abilities to mount it up if so, but I am unsure about the wiring end of things. If this is possible, are there any general tips or maybe a good thread where someone has done this before?
