Well I represented the Ti at a local BMW meet in my hometown. I was the only Ti there and it was only about 8 bmw's. One M3. and of course there was that guy that always has something to say and only points out your cars flaws and nothing good about it. and then has smart remarks that always involve him having a fast car. but really his car isnt all that fast. i just wish we could all get along. i know i try. but all in all i quess it was a good meet. i would do it again, just stay away from negative nancy. P.S There were plenty of people there who did like my car alot though. so that is always good. __________________ custom dual exhaust,M3 front and rear bumper, 10.4 inch roof mount drop screen, Viper alarm system, DSII's rims, M3 Vader Seats, M3 Mirrors, Carbon Fiber CAI, Smoked Corners, Side Markers, Leatherz armrests, black grilles 225k miles and still the Ti goes on | | | 07-11-2007, 03:59 AM | #2 | Moderator Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: SoCal318ti Posts: 1,574 | Quote: Originally Posted by Will'sBeamer Well I represented the Ti at a local BMW meet in my hometown. Nope sorry. I was rushing out the door when I was leaving for the meet. I had to finish cleaning my leather and getting the lips on my rims real good and shiny. So I forgot the camera. But there is supposed to be a meet going on again on Monday so I hope to get some pics then. __________________ custom dual exhaust,M3 front and rear bumper, 10.4 inch roof mount drop screen, Viper alarm system, DSII's rims, M3 Vader Seats, M3 Mirrors, Carbon Fiber CAI, Smoked Corners, Side Markers, Leatherz armrests, black grilles 225k miles and still the Ti goes on | | | 07-11-2007, 01:23 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | honestly, the people I have met who put down the Ti are the Badge whores. Most enthusiasts like the Ti simply due to it's potential. So don't let the idiot with nothing good to say get you down. | | | 07-11-2007, 02:22 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | Yup, at the track most people acknowledge that it is a fun little car. The same people that bash BMW 4 cylinders have probably never driven or faced off against an E30 M3. Not saying the Ti is an E30 M3, but the potential is there. I didn't get any pictures, but the pace car for the races they had at the DE I just went to over the weekend had a Ti as the official pace car. I'll make sure to get pictures of him leading a pack of GT3 cup p-cars, radicals, corvettes, and a viper down the front straight away for their warm up lap. | | | 07-11-2007, 02:31 PM | #6 | doesn't care about you. I've had lots of people say the 318ti is the best looking body style, especially when dropped and with some nice rims on it. I should also note that I have one of the only "modified" BMWs at the meets, so I guess that helps. People that bash on other people are insecure, don't worry about it, the guy probably still lives at home. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 07-11-2007, 05:20 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | A guy named Nancy? Isn't that bad enough to keep his mouth shut? Quote: Originally Posted by Will'sBeamer Well I represented the Ti at a local BMW meet in my hometown. That sounds like the typical a**hole that wants to feel better than someone else. I just ignore them and walk away from them. People like him needs to mature and appreciate a car for what it is. They like the 318ti because you don't see many of them. But hanging out with M3 and other models of BMW is cool since we are all in one famly. I love to check out everyone's rides and see the customizing ideas. There will always be HATERS out there no matter what you drive... yes even a Ferrari or Lambo. I just wish more local MA ti members come out more often to represent. Maybe even a few swapped or DASC owners can teach others a lesson or two. | | | 07-11-2007, 07:14 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | Quote: Originally Posted by StealthBimmer Being the only 318ti at meets... that's how I feel sometimes when I go to the BMW meets and gathering. I am not worried about what others may say. It's all just opinions. Plus my car was doing good to keep up with everyone else. I will defintley be taking pictures next time I go. I'll also show off my Ti more since at the last meet I didnt show the interior or the engine bay to anyone. (Quess I didnt show it off since it was my first meet and I was trying to get to know everyone and I was off looking at thier cars anyway.) Well I will post again next monday with some pics. (And some movie footage of everyone's exhaust and how it sounds) __________________ custom dual exhaust,M3 front and rear bumper, 10.4 inch roof mount drop screen, Viper alarm system, DSII's rims, M3 Vader Seats, M3 Mirrors, Carbon Fiber CAI, Smoked Corners, Side Markers, Leatherz armrests, black grilles 225k miles and still the Ti goes on | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
