Bought my first ti like two weeks ago. Drove it like mad in the snow for a day and then ripped it to pieces. I'm primarily rallying 318ti's going forward. I love my E30s but its like BMW wanted to go rallying and fixed every issue I had including space and access, rear sump on the engine, flat bottom, more tucked gas tanks, revised rear sway for more travel, etc. So its getting cage and armor, a euro s50b32 with grp N tune. 6 spd and 4.10 only because Im driving the rally car to the event (no trailer) and need gearing that will get me there too. Here is the front set up to grab the control arms and extension to the skid plate. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...55078256_o.jpg | | | 03-01-2013, 06:05 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Hey Bill! Glad to have you in the forum! I loved the clips of your E30 in the rally posted on Youtube. Way to go making all the BMW fans proud. I'm certain you'll have a sizable cheering section here as you rally with your ti. Welcome to the forum! I've been following your adventures since the 2010 run at WRC Mexico. I was super excited when you got the ti and can't wait to see the rest of the build, and of course what you'll be doing with the car afterwards Best of luck to you! -Jamie __________________ 1997 318ti 5-speed Moreagrün 1996 318ti auto Hellrot (retired) | | | 03-01-2013, 01:09 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | I have watched a few hours of video while you work on the car for WRC Mexico. I've enjoyed every minute of it. Best of luck completing and competing with your 318ti. I'll be watching! Also, welcome to the Org. I'm getting all my parts, cage, and maintenance items ordered this week. | | | 12-04-2015, 05:18 PM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2013 Location: Herndon, VA Posts: 20 | Any updates on this car? I'm thinking about building a ti for rally-x and would love to find out some of the weak spots on the car before I start racing. | | | 12-05-2015, 03:55 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2011 Location: Santa Rosa, CA Posts: 407 | __________________ 1997 318ti 5-speed Moreagrün 1996 318ti auto Hellrot (retired) | | | 12-06-2015, 03:17 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2012 Location: Dodging potholes in SoCal Posts: 454 | So happy to have you here Bill. We'll all be rooting for you. I'm positive that you'll also make the TI cool and quiet some haters. __________________ '96 318ti California Edition- Montreal blue '68 1600-2-Caribe blue | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
