The center cat is a stock Ti catalytic converter that had a hole cut in the bottom to remove the "internals" of the cat. The piece was then welded back on to seal it back up. It should connect just like a stock catalytic converter. No welding needed. From what I can remember his exhaust is also just a standard stromung 318ti exhaust. The only ones that had bigger piping were the 2 custom ones from the group buy last year. I bought my conforti chip from Andy, so bumpy bump for a good seller. | | | 02-18-2008, 05:43 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: San Jose, CA, USA Posts: 253 | Hi Guys, Sorry - things got crazy this weekend. Exhaust - yes just as Mo said. We found shipping it a long distance by UPS was very expensive. Both the center section and it bolt into stock locations, no welding required. With the center section, your car will be much louder than before...it's fun, as long as your state allows fun. CA doesn't. My best time from Pasadena to South San Jose was about 4hr and 18 minutes in my old '89 integra...and that was when Pachaco Pass was still mostly 2 lanes and the national limit was 55. If either of you CA guys really want the catback, email me! Angel - about the panels - let me take a look and see what I'd ask for just them. They're all in excellent condition, except one of the door's speaker surrounds is scratched. I have your email, and shall reply to you there today. Thanks all! __________________ Andy Chittum - Mad Man Motorsports | | | 02-18-2008, 05:47 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: San Jose, CA, USA Posts: 253 | Quote: Originally Posted by mohaughn From what I can remember his exhaust is also just a standard stromung 318ti exhaust. Just standard, but if nobody wants it, I'm going to see if I can squeeze it onto my 91 318is daily. It is completely daily drivable, but makes good noises when that M42 is tickling the far side of 6000 rpms where they belong. __________________ Andy Chittum - Mad Man Motorsports | | | 02-19-2008, 03:45 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: OKC, Oklahoma Posts: 387 | is that GC kit for a 318ti/Z3 or regular e36? | | | 02-19-2008, 03:58 AM | #13 | Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: sf ca Posts: 32 | How is the sound from the stromung exhaust? Do you still have it for sale? Just bought a 96 sport for 4k Jan. 2. First trip to the garage a bit over 4,500. Runs good now. I did alot of searching on this site before I bought. Wow I love the 318ti. I now see why you guys are all talking about them... they kick ass. sorry about being off subject. I can pick up the exhaust on the weekend if you want? Or ship to S.F.? | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
