I have been looking at the 318ti for some time now. Just recently I took the plunge and bought one. I am the proud owner of a Silver, year 2000, E36 318ti, 5 spd manual. Body is in good condition but front suspension is in need of a full rebuild and suspect engine is getting tired (210,000 kms). Looking forward to the journey. Kind regards, Jamie | | | 05-30-2021, 01:15 PM | #2 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2021 Location: Austin, TX Posts: 6 | Welcome Jamie, I learned a lot from this forum that helped me when I rescued a 95 ti. Enjoy! Cheers, Butch | | | 07-11-2021, 03:12 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2021 Location: Colorado Posts: 13 | Jamie, Just picked one up this Friday. Mine needs suspension overhaul as well, but appears to be in great shape! We'll be along the same path! I bought the car from someone I knew that works on cars and it only had 65k miles. That was about 1 year ago, so now the car has been given some upgrades and some new shoes. I recently added some polyurethane bushings with solid transmission bushing mounts. Along with the bushing upgrades, I also swapped out the old aftermarket coil over strut with Air bags. Next, I’m looking into boosting my 318ti .
