Hi guys, I'm looking for an upgrade on wheels + tyres for my 1997 318ti. I've seen some people use 18" M3 wheels on their 318ti, but I'm wondering if it requires fender mod. Mine is a stock standard 318ti, unlowered. Besides, if 18" wheels are possible for my car, what size of tyres should I go for the 18" wheels then? Thanks for your help!!! Just got an additional question please. I saw a good deal on ebay for M3 look wheels + tyres, but the tyres come in 235 40R17. Are they too wide for the 318ti without front fender mod? | | | 12-09-2009, 01:55 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | those should be good, I've got 225 width tires on 18"s and there's plenty of extra room | | | 01-11-2010, 06:25 AM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Montesano, Wa Posts: 20 | I have a 95 318ti with ADR 78 Sterling 18" wheels with 225/40/18 tires and they work great. I am also interested in trading them for a set of BMW wheels, closer to the original size that came on my car. If anyone is interested or knows someone who might be, let me know. This is a link to the wheels I have http://www.adrwheels.com/brand_detai...finish&ino=381 | | | 03-01-2010, 05:01 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Buffalo, NY Posts: 16 | Still lookin to trade I have stock 15's on michelin tires.. take a look at my photo.. hit me up.. ttyl | | | 03-01-2010, 05:30 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Miami, FL Posts: 874 | no you dont need any fender modifications only if you get 19" but this isnt the case you can also go for 18" staggered fitment and you'll b perfectly fine Last edited by trikzta; 03-01-2010 at 05:47 PM. | | | 03-01-2010, 05:41 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: sunderland Posts: 11 | 18s hi there im running 18s on my 318 compact fronts are 225/40/18 and the rears are 255/35/18 and the car is lowered quite a bit and there dont catch at all | | | 03-01-2010, 06:33 PM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Buffalo, NY Posts: 16 | Hey, my name is Tim, and I saw your post in Jan regarding wheel swap, I have 15" Bimmer rims on Michelins..
