Question TPS sensor problem or the wiring harness?

Hi Guys,

Bit of a dilemma here. I'll start off at the beginning, I was coming out of first into second and shifted pretty hard. Immediately the check engine light came on and the car went into limp home mode. When I checked the codes (using the Peake research tool) I got Throttle Position Sensor and Knock Sensor cyl 3-4. Reset codes, and the CEL immediately came back on. This time only the TPS code was there. Repeated several times with the same result. The next day the engine ran fine and CEL went out after about 5 mins of driving. Tonight the CEL has begun to blink on and off randomly, seemingly almost in time with rpm drops/spikes at random rpms. Engine cranks and starts normally but will not idle, if it gets under 1700 it shuts off. Not stalls, shuts off like the key was turned. Also my stomp test for checking codes has never worked.

Now the question is, is there a chance this could just be the harness coming off the sensor, or is that only determined by cleaning all the connections and replacing the sensor? Also, does removing the harness include pulling the upper half of the intake manifold to access it?

Thanks in advance
