I've run into problems with my 2.5 M50 swap. Here's the story, I got ahold of a 1992 M50, complete with all of its accessories, wiring harness, DME, radiator, exhaust and other goodies. All is currently installed in my 7/95 build date ti.
The engine turns over fine, but won't start. Upon further investigation, I have ZERO fuel pressure and ZERO ignition spark. I had read a couple threads that indicate that ODB-I cars were not equipped with EWS:

burgandy label are EWS1, and DMEs with
silver labels are EWS2. EWS2 is the type that needs aligned by the dealer. Since my original DME had a silver label, it makes sense that the EWS doesn't get a good return from the burgandy DME and has shut down the fuel pump and ignition.
I transported the ti to the local dealer, and explained my entire ordeal. I suspected I was talking way over the service manager's head about all this, but he assured me he knew what I was talking about.
Today he calls and says they determined the DME was receiving + & - currents incorrectly. This was switched. They then said they need another 4 hours of labor to dig into other wiring harness issues.
Does this sound right???
I told him it probably needed an newer DME, and be aligned properly to start-up. I'm really confused as to why they are hacking up my wiring harness..
