As it turns out, the 318ti is an effective weapon for hunting deer, but if you have other options in your arsenal, I would recommend those over the 'ti. Expensive and a little scary. I hit two running deer broadside at 55 mph. No people were hurt, and I'll be the first to say that I got lucky and that it could and should have ended up much worse. After much consideration, I've decided to step up to the task of repairing my car even though it's definitely not the wisest financial decision at this stage of our cars' worth. The bottom line is that I'm still quite enthusiastic about this car, and I can't bear to be responsible for the death of one of our (rare) hatch's. So if you have some of the parts I need, please PM or email me (go_fast_bikes@yahoo.com) so you can help get a 'ti back on the road! Wanted: Door Shell - passenger side and driver side, with or without glass, window regulator Side Mirror - passenger side, stock, or both sides in the M3 version Fender - passenger side Hood Bumper - front, M3 style Windshield Nose Panel - '97-'99 version Kidney Grill - left and right, '97-'99 version Head Light - passenger side, glass "Depo" unit; if you have just the glass lens sans housing, that would probably work Turn Signal Light - passenger side, stock amber color Radiator Various plastic cosmetic cover parts under the hood Support assembly for the radiator, etc. FYI, the car is a '98 Sport, Arctic Silver. | | | 12-20-2007, 04:55 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | OUCH sorry to hear this tonight...good luck with the repair __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 12-20-2007, 04:57 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Orange County, NY Posts: 1,067 | But is the deer OK? AB. Canada Posts: 6 | Bad week for Ti's I did a little hunting myself this week, I didn't get a deer, I bagged a 2008 Lexus RX400. I'm still waiting on word from my insurance company on whether they are going to write it off, if not I need a new front end also. Luckily I've managed to already find the major componants I need (hoodand grill) I'll fix-er up even if they do write her off. I thought this would be a good oportunity to paint the whole car until I was quoted 8-10K. Good luck on your repairs, at least I know I'm not alone. Most of the parts I got from ebay and different forums. I'd suggest looking through bimmerforums if you haven't already started. I created a spreadsheet - found everything I needed on ebay and a few other places, that helped me with pricing stuff on bimmerforums. | | | 12-21-2007, 02:14 AM | #14 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2004 Location: Bend, OR Posts: 13 | Thanks to all for the well wishes and help in finding parts.
