I have this idea that all I'd need to do is cut 6-8 inches from the exhaust to make it fit. Actually, I'd be paying a muffler shop for this service. I know campaiar did this on one of his swaps. I'm almost sure I've seen a picture of this at some point but I can't seem to find one. So, for my peace of mind - otherwise, I'm not going to sleep too well tonight, can someone just say "yes zboot, that will work". I'm at this point where things are almost all together and I've hit a wall of unnecessary frustration. Unnecessary because I'm almost sure things will be ok, but that little bit of doubt keeps nagging me. | | | 07-25-2008, 03:20 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Cincinnati Posts: 890 | I had a full dual 325 exhaust on my 325ti swap (well minus about 12 inches of the catback). It can be made to fit, but the dual outlet muffler is a problem through the rear bumper. If the bumper is modified the tips will fit, but they are slightly askew since the geometry is different. __________________ SOLD!!! 1999 332ti //M Sport Titanium Silver M3 S52 3.2 I-6 Engine, M3 Clutch w/ ti Getrag Trans, Z3 3.15 LSD medium case diff and half shafts, OEM Hatch Spoiler, Eurosport HP Underdrive Pulleys, FDM, 17" DS1 rims, M3 Front Struts & Springs, M3 Instrument Cluster, 3-spoke //M steering wheel with tri-color stitching, SSK, CCFL Angels in Depo projectors with 5k HIDs | | | 07-25-2008, 03:24 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | My 328 exhaust never came out right. I ended up with a Magnaflow or maybe Dynaflow (I think). __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-25-2008, 03:52 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Pittsburgh, PA Posts: 1,224 | Well, the bumper will have to suffer | | | 07-26-2008, 02:56 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | Dustin tried to fit a 325 up on the ti, the muffler was too huge in relation to the tips and bumper cover/trim piece. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 07-26-2008, 04:17 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: maritimes Posts: 1,433 | $100 for a magnaflow or something and I guess $150 would get you a nice 2.5" bent pipe to Ypipe to your centersection. I wouldn't bother doing all that chopping and fitting for a stock exhaust, if it were me. __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 07-28-2008, 06:00 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Pittsburgh, PA Posts: 1,224 | Quote: Originally Posted by Philly $100 for a magnaflow or something and I guess $150 would get you a nice 2.5" bent pipe to Ypipe to your centersection. Welding work will be done likely tomorrow or wednesday. My chop work served well for this weekend | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
