Nice doing business with you. Car will soon make appearances at the Boston BMW CCA's events up at the former Ft. Devens airstrip --- a fantastic venue for those who haven't been there. | | | 03-01-2011, 02:44 AM | #37 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Odenton, MD Posts: 419 | Quote: Originally Posted by cpatstone Thanks Mr. Gimp. Amazing what some of those oil additives will do. For a short time anyway. And the body shop did a great job! __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 03-01-2011, 02:49 AM | #39 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Odenton, MD Posts: 419 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti Good thing you deleted the thread with all those problems you had. Not posted in this thread is that the car was sold at a reduced price because it developed a rod knock about two weeks before it was sold. I think it was mad that I had decided to sell it. Either way it's in great hands now and it's going to get a new, bigger, stronger heart! I can't wait to see what it becomes. | | | 03-01-2011, 03:19 AM | #40 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | I hope cpatstone does some ice racing. I would love to do that. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 03-01-2011, 05:21 AM | #41 | Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: the sticks of MA Posts: 45 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti I hope cpatstone does some ice racing. I would love to do that. | I think they've only done that twice in the last three years? this year doesn't look good either. too much snow = insulation on ice = thin ice, and presumably a lot of plowing. Does sound fun though. As Gimp said, the motor does knock a bit. My ultimate goal is to swap in an S52, so as long as the car made it back to MA (it did), I was content. Would be good to drive it for maybe a season before upgrading the powerplant, so with that in mind, I started a new thread over here: http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?p=294061 any help is appreciated.
