My experience was good, and the more you buff the better. The other cleaning kits I saw in the store come with sandpaper of various grits. Your supposed to sand with coarse grit first then progress to the finest grit after which you polish it with a solution (kinda like polishing rims). I don't like the idea of sanding my headlights, so I passed on those. | | | 05-09-2012, 02:43 AM | #2329 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Ft Defiance, AZ Posts: 686 | I've used the gritting kits before (was a gift from my dad) and i have to say i was very pleased with the results. even better, i took pics when i did it, so here ya go (this is my old '97 active, i miss her ) Before: Lights Before: Driver Side After, Passenger Before: Lights, Driver Side After, Passenger Before: After: Lights After: __________________ 1999 BMW 318ti 2005 MINI Cooper S Last edited by teen ti; 05-09-2012 at 04:36 AM. | | | 05-09-2012, 03:20 AM | #2330 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Very pleased with the long term results. The vinyl doesn't fog near as much as the lights themselves and it polishes up very easily. | | | 05-09-2012, 05:49 AM | #2332 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Rally. Posts: 3,156 | You replace the entire assembly- the glassis not available seperate. I suggest clear (but that is up to you) lenses and also suggest the factory plastic laminate covering for them. I added it to my new lenses when I replaced my 'sand-blasted' ones and they still look great! | | | 05-10-2012, 06:10 PM | #2335 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Rolled the chassis over 188K. __________________ No more ti. | | | 05-11-2012, 01:06 AM | #2336 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 593 | Installed reverse parking sensors on the turbo car lol. Got them off eBay for $44 and took a few hours to do it. | | | 05-11-2012, 07:32 AM | #2337 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2011 Location: SoFla Posts: 482 | Quote: Originally Posted by eldiablo666 I installed an underglow kit in uv blacklight. Judging from your post you strike me as one of those annoying purist. I am more concerned on how it runs, drives and if I like the way it looks as opposed to being true to the brand. Prestigious nameplate aside... it's just a car. It's not the 2nd coming of christ nor will it cure cancer or enlighten mankind. Get over it. | **Activate MOD mode** Both of you guys need to chill out. "The devil" can put UV lights under his car if he wants, and Crash, you need to accept it. It is OK to express an opinion that you don't like it; however you comment is bordering on a personal attack, which is not cool. I don't care for the idea myself, and will not be installing them on my car, but I do not attack the poster about it. That is the difference. **Deactivate MOD mode** | | | 05-11-2012, 03:35 PM | #2340 | Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: Canada Posts: 34 | My apologies, my last post was out of line. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
