Keys to it being a Clubsport: Schwarz 2 or Hellrot exterior, Stoff Millpoint/Rot interior, and probably most important P337A M Sport Package. There was a regular Sport model that came with the suspension and seats, but didn't have the front/rear bumpers or M3 mirrors. It's an attempt to find all E31s out there. Even the salvaged ones. I was part of the search for E31s for sale on the web (Ebay, Autotrader, etc). I think that I contributed data on about 200 cars to the list This has been going on for quite awhile. The E31 webpage has a database that identifies the year, model (840, 850, CSI, etc.), transmission, location, owner, pictures, and any other data that helps with the knowledge of these cars. This webpage is available only to those that are owners of these cars. As a result of this work and the enthusiasm of the owners there is now a stand alone BMW E31 chapter within the BMW CCA. Has anything like this registry been started for these cars? Are there production numbers by year somewhere? There seems to be a lot of salvaging going on with these cars which would make those that are left even more rare depending upon how many were initially produced. The VIN Decoder thread here is a great beginning to a registry. LouM... | A registry for the Clubsports could be interesting (not feasible for all Compacts), however hosting it here would be a decision for Steven to make. If there's interest in this, I can provide a list of all 200 Clubsport VINs. Sadly, Clubsports never got much appreciation so the miles were packed on and some owners don't even know what they have. Even with only 200 cars a complete registry may be difficult BUT I imagine every registry for any car faces the same issues. It can only help the value! __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! I came across a CL listing for a Club Sport in Jacksonville, FL. Looks authentic - VIN is ...SAM53716. Great looking car per the listing with 150K miles (hellrot), and seller wants $4900. Didn't know what this was until I poked around the web. When I came across your thread I thought I'd add to it. The car's not my speed and the price seems a bit optimistic, but if interested, the link is: https://jacksonville.craigslist.org/ctd/5461357453.html Take care... Steve K. | I can see the drivers door-card is going out / gone. Find out when the last time the valve cover was changed? Also if any of the vacuum hoses have been replaced. That door card is a single piece. So, you cant pop out the red part and drop it into another, you have: 1) to replace the whole thing with another clubpsort door card or 2) find an active 99 that had the stoff rot 3) or repair it. I've been looking for years and years for new(er) door cards myself. Looks like its on its original shocks and springs? The rear wiper has been removed. The front bumper is missing the front screen and everything underneath it. Check for rust in the drivers foot well area. I would offer 3.5k to start with. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 2 (0 members and 2 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
