My Camshaft Sensor needs to be changed, doesn't that affect timing? | | | 05-07-2007, 02:30 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Lawton, Oklahoma Posts: 110 | mine does it too. 103,000 miles m44 | | | 05-07-2007, 08:00 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Europe Posts: 136 | Quote: Originally Posted by hubrisin My car ticks too, is it a timing issue? Maybe this is started from a really bad misfire sometime ago | | | 05-07-2007, 02:59 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | It is probably just lifter tick. Not having enough oil in the engine or not running the right kind of oil will cause the lifters to tick. I've also heard people mention that they get lifter tick after auto-x runs. Maybe try a thicker oil or put 1/2 liter more than you usually would into the engine when you are going to run it hard. My car will sit for a week or so at a time and when I first start it up it has minor lifter tick. Once oil circulates back through the engine it goes away. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
