The parts are piling in left and right, going to pull the Ti out of storage tonight/tomorrow morning and bring it to the shop where the transplant will take place! I will continue to try and remember and update the .org when I have free time. Been working non stop, and keeping busy with my engagement to boot! There will definitely need to be a huge thank you to my Fiancée for putting up with me, and my habits of spending way to much money! Pics: Waiting on injectors, hoses, and time, lots of time. I forgot my camera at home on Sunday, but the car is at our shop and the stock m42 motor and tranny are sitting next to it, going to clean up the engine bay before putting the new powerplant in!! Pictures say it best! Topmount turbo awesomeness! Getting it secured on the trailer. Pulled out of the garage... been sitting for over a year, driven only 500 miles in 2 years! | | | 04-12-2010, 08:23 AM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Louisiana Posts: 1,093 | be sure to keep us posted bc once my m44 takes a dump this will be my next consideration. __________________ was the 1 an only Bagged Ti on 19's!! | | | 04-12-2010, 01:57 PM | #20 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Atlanta Posts: 233 | That is going to be awesome! If it gets done before July great, but if not oh well I'm really close! I'm replacing the starter, alternator, blower motor, and wiper motor while I'm in there... Simplifies everything, so all that's ordered and coming in the mail too. E30 Turbo M50 would be FTMFW, I have a 91 318i 4d, it's my winter/daily for about 6 months now. It's pretty dang rough around the edges, but it's purpose is served. However it's got that dang m42 in her which I'm probably going to end up strapping a small turbo on it, and calling it good. | | | 04-22-2010, 04:55 AM | #24 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Round Rock, TX Posts: 399 | nice, can't wait to see the final product! | | | 04-22-2010, 08:10 AM | #25 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | damn thats a huge turbo and i tho mine was big (60 trim) __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 04-22-2010, 03:05 PM | #26 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Atlanta Posts: 233 | I love this thread. We would be a fun, heads up race... I beat a C5 vette with my current set up (10psi/300whp) a couple weeks ago. Definitely digging your build man. Much prettier than mine! | | | 05-02-2010, 07:27 PM | #28 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Minneapolis, MN Posts: 307 | Thanks guys for your interests in my project. Little update on a lazy Sunday. Motor is installed bolted down, but waiting on some more things to make it come alive. Decided to pull the trigger on a AEM standalone EMS, EGT sensor, electric boost control solenoid, IAT sensor, and 80Lb hr seimens DEKA 4 injectors. Ditched my plans on the greddy type s blow off valve, and instead I ordered the HKS Super Sequential Valve. :0 So with this setup I'm roughly going to pull 400hp at 14lbs of boost with e85, and i'll be happy with that. Wish I wasn't going to keep the getrag tranny, but when or if I want more power outta this setup I'll have to pull the tranny and upgrade the clutch again, and then I'll drop the ZF tranny in. | | | 05-02-2010, 10:57 PM | #29 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | I'd go with the ZF now. Or be prepared to be somewhere on the side of the road. I grenaded my getrag 50 miles into me driving the car. I don't know how you drive your car, but I drive mine like it's stolen. I had just under 400whp when the trans went. Just some info for you if you wanted it or not! | | | 05-03-2010, 06:33 AM | #30 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Minneapolis, MN Posts: 307 | Thanks man, TRUST me I know I should have did it now, but there was no sense in putting the ZF in now when I'll need a stronger clutch, when it goes I'll have an excuse to drop some serious cash on the driveline. I'm not made of money, I have a wedding/honeymoon/housing/ring's & etc to pay for, so I'll just take it easy this summer and over the winter I store it, it can get revamped more then! Also 350 hp is plenty for me now. I'll want more eventually for sure! I do appreciate you looking out for me man, and for the record, you can drop a told you so when it breaks, as I already know it will! Intercooler mount was fabbed up today, bolted in and waiting for some IC pipe routing. BTW... you have to drive it like you stole it right?! lol | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
