Back in the day, we used to spray wd40 on the distributor to displace the water. Not sure about the Bimmer though. Perhaps the coils could get wet causing similar issues. On the other hand, hydrolocking is no fun either. Sorry to here that Chris. Hopefully she didn't take in too much h2o and the coils just got wet or something simple. Getting ready to wrench on my car as we speak. Good luck on your end. Let us know what you find. | | | 09-25-2007, 04:26 AM | #17 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 1,305 | Quote: Originally Posted by lazoh That sucks!!! Suggestions? ideas? thanks | | | 10-19-2007, 04:55 AM | #20 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 1,305 | update guys: I decided do pretty much rebuild the engine due to time constraints and other various factors. Unfortunately, it's taken a lot longer than I thought and I have been stuck in Alabama for a week now, late to get back to work. Anyhow, should be done tomorrow so I'll let you guys know. | | | 10-19-2007, 05:23 AM | #21 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Well Chris, it'll be comforting to know that your engine is on a fresh rebuild and should last a long time. Glad to here you're making progress and I hope your move goes well. Let me know next time you make it out this way so we could hang. Now the car won't be ready until at least monday when that's when i was supposed to be back at work. this sucks. sorry guys, just a little venting oh, and here's a picture of her up on the flatbed (it's from the cell): | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
