w0rd to the electronica fans out there, nothing sounds better than some fat beats pounding a sub in the back when you're cruising at 90 across I-90. Personally I'm a huge psytrance whore but lately my jungle itch has been rearing it's head again. For those of you who have decent systems, I order you to find a hard techstep track by Exile called Fatal Exception. The %!@#$ing most angry jungle track ever!

I like some old gangsta rap like Snoop: Doggystyle or DRE: The Chronic etc, also I like alot of various music such as the Sneaker Pimps, The Faint, and 80's music for real!!

In the opinion of a humble every day jungler/trip hopist & dj who cant stand djs, Dj shadows track "mashin' on the motor way" got me to work today feelin good and revin high. favorite tracks this month... lets see, for the hiphopers (I feel sorry if your music only has four elements) "sea lion" off the new Sage Francis, the break on Saul Williams "black stacey" (also check his website for the list of demands remix video) two great albums pushing the boundaries of the genre SOLEs Selling Live Water, and BUCK65s vertex are amazing, Junglists out there if you can find anything by an LA based producer who goes by 1201 check it, just some very raw garage dnb, of course photek. Great mellow almost trip hop check Alias w/ markus archer (also known as the NOTWIST) the tracks called unseen sights available for free download on anticon.com i think. Tracey Chapmans let it rain is always a classic, great for driving down the coast. something more angry my little bro turned me onto dimmu borguir. other standing favorites include dj bobby b, sublime, nin, madvillian, ahh the velvet underground, sixtoo, jel, radio&portis head... it goes on and on... questions comments, don't understand what i'm saying?

thanks, I love it all, started spinning d'n'b, moved into hip hop & turntablism, after that it was just a landslide, funk, jazz, rare groove, oldies, classical, trip hop, blues, country, classic rock, death metal, anything but top 40, most music is the same, country and rap are identical other than context, stylized rhyming over a 4-4 beat with a hook or chorus, the turntable replaces the banjo, still just a guy talking about women, booze, money, and chevrolets, yet all do is divide ourselves.

also, in country you lose your job, truck, wife, dog, and in rap you don't need a job, have trucks, hos, and doggs (crew).


i'm more of a straight rock and roll guy, but i really listen to everything (except polka . . . i'm not that old yet). i have something like 300+ discs and 5 crates, so i can guarantee that i have something you'll love, and something you'll hate.

i just dig music. my seminar paper is on digital sampling, if that's any indication.

I am totally a punk rock grrrl. I love Nirvana, The Ramones, REM, U2 and so many other bands!! I love to go to concerts, and have probably been to over 60 shows. Back before I got totally sick of Courtney Love my favorite band was HOLE. I am also a huge Madonna fan and have been from the start of her career when I was like 11. don't bother with the iTrip, its crap, the monster one's a little better but for affordability and quality just get a $4 rca(red&white)/headphone wire from radio shack, just make sure your head unit supports it.

i've found my favorite driving cd as of late has been 'exile in oblivion' by strung out. been a fan of theirs for quite some time now (since 98 or so, i think). they still do these things they used to do way back in the day, they're called guitar solos and unlike a lot of punk/hardcore stuff out now, their singer can do just that-- sing!! it's funny to watch the progression of a band from your typical double kick drum, punk rock band to a band who can write songs with some lyrical and musical depth.

some other things i've been playing in the car are the first tool cd, the cure trilogy (pornography, disintegration and bloodflowers), good ole' social distortion and whatever xm decides we're supposed to be listening to.

brrrkenstock, just make sure to wear some kind of ear protection when you're going to shows. i used to go to shows a couple times a week and last count i was nearing 300 or so. the loudness will catch up with you, it did me, i've lost a little sensitivity to high frequencies.
