I am very happy you gave it to a cause that was really needed instead of for yourself. __________________ my new world | | | 03-26-2006, 04:22 PM | #32 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | I once was coming out of a super market with my ex girlfriend. As I was putting my cart away, I noticed a pocket book in the child seat of the another cart. Some woman was in a hurry and forgot to grab it. I opened it up to see what was inside. This woman left her wallet, beeper, check book, cell phone and practically everything of value. Her wallet had money, credit cars, driver's license and even her badge from the hopsital she worked; she was a nurse. This would be a catastrophic loss! Another woman, who saw what happened, told me to NOT turn it in to the supermarket, they will keep the money. She said I look like an honest person, and that I should return it myself. My gf and I returned home, and used Mapquest to find her house. Within 2 hours of her losing it, I knocked on her door, and told her we found it in the parking lot. She was so thankful; then she started doing the "God Bless You" thing. OK, that was enough. In the end , it was good to "Do the Right Thing". I didn't expect a reward, it wasn't my property to begin with. Quote: Originally Posted by bmwracerchick wow....what happened to morals.... Seeing how it was $2,500 someone is going to go balistic looking for that money. Sure they were careless to lose it and maybe shouldnt be allowed to carry money that they lose but wouldnt you want someone to turn that in if found? People still try to see if someone turns those things in anyways. If you do decided to donate it (which you should seeing how you found it) put it into maybe the breat cancer fund, or towards the childrens hospital, not your friend. That is just my 2 cents. at least your thinking of using the money for something good and not selfish. | __________________ 1998 (July) 318ti, 5-spd OEM Armrest • Blaupunkt Heidelberg CD50 CD Player/Compact Drive MP3 Player • Diamond Audio 5.25" rear speakers • Navman ICN 530 GPS • BMWALARM.COM (with comfort settings) after market alarm system • Magnecor 8.5mm wires • M-Z3 Shifter/Momo Knob • Burlwood Dashboard • Stromung Exhaust • X-brace • Racing Dynamics Front Strut Bar • Carbonio C.A.I. • 17" Rial Rims • Vader Seats/Heated/Lumbar Support • M-tech Steering Wheel/Front Sway Bar/Front & Rear Bumper • Depos/w 6500K Angel Eyes/6000K HIDs • Clear Corners • M3 Mirrors • UUC Light Weight Flywheel/M5 Clutch/M3 Clutch Slave • E28 3.46 LSD/Mcoupe Cover/E30 Flanges & Halfshafts • UUC S.S. We asked her what the problem was and she said that she has just lost her ring. We began searching the bottom of the pool and i found the ring. She was so happy that her boyfriend, who was there at the time, gave us $5 but it wasnt even about the money we were just happy to help out. | | | 03-26-2006, 05:19 PM | #34 | doesn't care about you. What about the other 500, hmm? A funny story about stealing with a lesson well learnt... After a highschool football game that me and a few friends were watching we decided to go out to eat at a restaurant. We were waiting outside sitting on a curb when we realized there's is a wallet behind us. My friend tells me to take it, we look at the ID and since it's dark we can't see it well and assume it is just some freshmen... We empty the wallet of money, which amounted to a whole $23, and left the wallet where we found it with ID's, receipts, and sort... We end up not eating at the restaurant and drive a half hour the other way for some White Castle. We get there, and our friend suddenly exlaims he lost his wallet... "Umm, what color is your wallet?" "Black leather" "What did you have in it?" "ID, some receipts" "Ahh damnit, how much money?" "$23" "(A string of curses)" We end up going the half hour back the other way to retrieve his wallet. Lesson? Stealing screws you over. __________________ RIP Tonka Hitlerietta 08/03/04 - 01/25/05 | | | 03-26-2006, 11:08 PM | #36 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: çî†ÿ øf åNgëL§, CA Posts: 5,314 | Quote: Originally Posted by johnnycpoc They might be counterfit | Nope, i checked every single bill. Usually we try to find a phone # first, usually there is, if there is no id (which happens many times also) that is when usually that day the person returns or calls the store. it doesnt take long for people to look for their missing stuff. We had a little old lady, lost $240 something around there in cash, nothing else. Well we had someone turn that in, took the name and number of the foundee and put it in the safe. 4 days later she called asking if by any chance someone turned it in, it was exactly the right amount she lost, she came in to claim, she called that number of the person who found it and asked if they could meet her at the store, they could, they had a chat and she bought them a nice steak from our meat department. lol it always left me teary eyed when something like that would happen. __________________ my new world | | | 03-27-2006, 06:41 AM | #38 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Long Beach area Posts: 1,189 | Yeah man...
