Now here is the big question. Does that black plastic frame and punch out for the airbag have a part#? Also, is there a separate control module for the side impact airbags? I can't seem to confirm that. Very rare for the ti to have them unless you have a 99 cause i think it was standard on those. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 02-11-2006, 01:33 AM | #41 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: San Francisco Posts: 308 | No that's all I could find. It might be listed on www.realoem.com somewhere....but I think I may be going back into those things soon anyway; door latch needs lubing. If I find any more info, I'll let ya know. __________________ '99 ti /Mtechnic, Schwartz II, Meyle Control Arms w/Full Metal Ball Joints, PowerFlex poly LCAB's, Pirelli P Zero/Nero 225/50/16, "the d-baffle"...... | | | 05-27-2006, 03:17 AM | #42 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Deadpan or L84THSKY- any updates on adding side impact bags? Is it possible to retrofit the black panel insert? Seems like there's a torx screw in the middle of the door panel to o though. I am curious to see how this turns out. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 06-02-2006, 04:49 AM | #43 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: San Francisco Posts: 308 | same info as i posted before-with the pics. i wasn't able to find anything else out. you might try eurodepot.com since they deal in alot of salvage stuff, you may be able to get what you're looking for or maybe some leads from them anyway. __________________ '99 ti /Mtechnic, Schwartz II, Meyle Control Arms w/Full Metal Ball Joints, PowerFlex poly LCAB's, Pirelli P Zero/Nero 225/50/16, "the d-baffle"...... | | | 06-17-2006, 03:26 AM | #44 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2003 Location: Northern IL Posts: 263 | i didnt know that TIs came with side impact airbags. i wish i had them. | | | 06-17-2006, 04:44 AM | #45 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | I already called Eurodepot, they don't have any. I'm wondering if I can get those panels from another model E36, that is easier to find. Maybe a 325 or 328 late 90's car. I'd imagine the black panel inserts would be the same. Lucky for me my car was wired for side airbags, but never came with them. I had a build date just prior to them becoming a standard feature, so they just wired the car in anticipation of the change. I have all the parts to do the job, just not the black panels. Quote: Originally Posted by 96cali Deadpan or L84THSKY- any updates on adding side impact bags?
