I drove mine!

I had loaned the ti to my sister while her car was in the shop. Just picked it up tonight. She confessed to me that she curbed the back rim while parallel parking. Took off about 8 inches of finish and scraped it good... Grrrrrrr..

At least the touring is running well, so I can take my time to re-finish the wheel.

Well...
It wasn't today but yesterday I installed a new (reconditioned) AC compressor, I put in the wrong oil (Ester instead of PAG), but it is working... Not sure if I need to go have it evacuated and re-filled with the right stuff though???
Any suggestions are welcome as always...

Yeah well, it's family, so not much I can do about it... She needed a car and the ti is the only one I could loan her. The iT wasn't insured yet, the 4runner is being used daily as the shop vehicle, and the Miata wouldn't work as she has 2 kids...

was this the 6 cyl compressor, or did you have to get a 4 cyl one? I can't offer any advice on the oil, never had to tackle the AC myself as the swap shop recharged the system for me.

I still have the 6cyl compressor, but the seller sent me the seiko (4cyl) with a return ship label for the other one. I'm just worried that by using the wrong kind of oil it'll damage the system...
The 6 cyl is bigger and has different mounting points, I'm sure it could be made to work, but it would have to be done at a shop!

My 10 second Google research says that you are fine with either oil... the Ester has a lighter weight viscosity than the PAG, and is preferred if you didn't replace the dryer when you replaced the compressor.

Recharged AC (although the dye has pointed out at least one leak), installed new (used) staggered style 68s (17" x 7.5" with 225s in the front, 17" x 8.5" with 245s in the rear).

Wheels look good!

Don't forget to re-post those over in the "wheels on cars" thread!

Took out the front seats and swapped the back leather sections... My driver's side developed a split in the bolster seam, so I repaired it and swapped the sections so to even out the wear factor.
