I had loaned the ti to my sister while her car was in the shop. Just picked it up tonight. She confessed to me that she curbed the back rim while parallel parking. Took off about 8 inches of finish and scraped it good... Grrrrrrr.. At least the touring is running well, so I can take my time to re-finish the wheel. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. It wasn't today but yesterday I installed a new (reconditioned) AC compressor, I put in the wrong oil (Ester instead of PAG), but it is working... Not sure if I need to go have it evacuated and re-filled with the right stuff though??? Try that one next time | Yeah well, it's family, so not much I can do about it... She needed a car and the ti is the only one I could loan her. The iT wasn't insured yet, the 4runner is being used daily as the shop vehicle, and the Miata wouldn't work as she has 2 kids... Quote: Originally Posted by yoda Well... I can't offer any advice on the oil, never had to tackle the AC myself as the swap shop recharged the system for me. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. I'm just worried that by using the wrong kind of oil it'll damage the system... The 6 cyl is bigger and has different mounting points, I'm sure it could be made to work, but it would have to be done at a shop! __________________ 2LT Rodriguez CA ARNG TURBO 96' Sport, Alaska Blue, Auto Custom JohnBoy Turbo, Midnight-Tunning Software, HKS BOV, e-Pod Gauge Pod, BavAuto Springs, Bilstein Sport, e30 3.73 LSD, Depo P36, Apexcone 55w HID, OEM Spoiler, M3 Lip, M3 Mesh Grill, Crossdrilled Rear Rotors, M3 Front Brakes, Sparco 3 point Harness, Euro M3 Wheel, K&N cone, Clear Corner/Sides/Tails, M3 Center Console & Arm-rest, M3 Red Cluster Needles, M3 Mirrors & Side Skirts, RD Exhaust, DS-1 wheels!... | | | 08-22-2010, 06:53 PM | #566 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | My 10 second Google research says that you are fine with either oil... the Ester has a lighter weight viscosity than the PAG, and is preferred if you didn't replace the dryer when you replaced the compressor. link; http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=75915 __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. My driver's side developed a split in the bolster seam, so I repaired it and swapped the sections so to even out the wear factor. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion.
