I am trying to find a way to make the adapters economical enough for you guys. I offer the standard black tanks for $75. There will be a few different install kits offered. One of those kits will have the adapter in it, and it will also be available separately. I am unsure at this point how much it will be, but should not be very much at all. If I can get the price down low enough, I will include it in the current price of the catch cans. I should have a better idea on the adapter soon. Also working on a M3 transmission breather kit with recirc! Thats going to be sweet. The first one is going out tomorrow to a racer. Its going to be thoroughly tested. | | | 08-02-2011, 05:40 PM | #54 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Henrico, VA USA Posts: 231 | If you end up making the palte adapter avaialble let me know the price as i have yet to make mine d to family issues...I can vouch for the workmanship on the catch can ladies and gents, it is a little jewel of simplicity and metalworking art. Dave | Awsome and thanks Dave! I was wondering how things were going with you. The adapter is made of 6061 billet aluminum. I will be doing a production style mock up of the adapter tomorrow. I have to see how long the machining time will be and how much material it takes. Then I will have a better idea on price from there. It would be great to know how many people want the adapter. Should we get a list going?? My posts are so long winded I doubt anybody actually reads this (they probably just look at the pictures like I do... ha ha). | | | 08-02-2011, 07:54 PM | #56 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: Elkhart, IN Posts: 128 | | | | 08-03-2011, 10:40 PM | #57 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: Elkhart, IN Posts: 128 | Making progress on the adapters... Heres how they look so far: The way the adapter will work is so simple: Just unbolt the two 6mm allen heads that hold the PCV on. Use the same screws to attach the adapter. The procedure is completely reversible too. There will be no need to remove the intake plenum to install the adapter. It will have a flat gasket instead of the o-ring style like the PCV has. But if you are worried about the cost, here's what I would suggest. Get rid of the milling on the sides, and counternore the holes deep enough tso you can still re-use the bolts. That part is hidden fairlt well, so it will likely not be seen much after it's installed. By the way, I am an engineer and do this kind of thing for a living. That part looks cool all polished up, though. | | | 08-04-2011, 05:55 PM | #60 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: Elkhart, IN Posts: 128 | Quote: Originally Posted by dave45056 It looks nice... I agree it wont be seen, but I still want it to look nice. I did away with the adapter matching the contours of the plenum spacer to cut down cost. My thoughts are people still need to be attracted to the product when its displayed in a picture. I would hate for any one little thing to take away from the overall quality of the kit. I have to play many roles in this business... engineer, marketing, sales.... Running the gammut of the operation by myself has those rewards and I love every bit of it!
