- 98 Cali: Reattached Bowden cable. It came off on the cooling/heating selector switch. Need to have A/C charge checked and recharged
- 99 540it: Fixed tailgate hatch motor
- Helped a friend with his TI.

Further troubleshot my A/C failure on the Cali. Turns out my compressor is not engaging. All 4 A/C fuses are intact. A/C off, engine on, A/C compressor not engaged. A/C button in, light on, engine on, A/C compressor not engaged. I guess I had a double A/C failure Saturday. The Bowden cable coming off the temperature switch selector and the compressor becoming inoperative. I'll search to confirm if the compressor is dead. In the meantime, the 97 will take over as my DD for this week. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! The M3 AM front bumper with a lip was interesting as it was just in an aisle waiting for me. Also ordered light grey headliner material for Wifie's TI. Bought them a long time ago and finally had the chance to get them. Black goes to the 95. And the red one will go the future red TI. | | | 06-21-2015, 10:54 PM | #82 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Nice! Glad you finally got them. Turns out there was a crack in the exhaust manifold for cylinders 3 and 4. Replaced it with one from a 1997 Z3 1.9 with 100k miles. Also discovered my exhaust system does not have support in the middle section, which could have been causing extra stress to the manifold at the cylinder heads. That's next, now! Old manifold: | Jamie: Middle support section like by the tranny? Good job on getting this addressed. Helped a friend with his 325ic, and loaned him Tiny, my 97 Sport overnight. Got it back cleaner than it's been in a long time. Thanks Peter! Cleaned off the parts I picked up at Pick n Pull today and ordered a few parts for upcoming projects. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Made and installed a new underpanel, installed new fenderliners, installed a rear speaker housing that didn't have the clip for the rear tray broken, and put in a rear tray. Put a set of DS1's with decent rubber on Pit as well. Decided I'm going to wrap the Hood, Roof and Spoiler in CF vinyl on him, too... (Hood and roof paint have crow's feet cracks in the finish.) Wrapped the fog light deletes in CF vinyl and also the outer door B pillar which had a peeling and faded black laminate. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. I was in a hurry, so I just took the whole hubs and rotors, I'll return the rotors, pads and hubs and keep the calipers and carriers. Net cost should be about $70. She's been so patient and would like he TI to handle as good or better than "Beast" our 540it. Upgraded the suspension on Wifie's Active with the suspension from my Cali after I went coilovers there. Bilstien HDs with Mtech springs and a X-brace off a Vert. Also found sheared transmission mounts and sheared exhaust hanger mounts at the tranny. Replaced both sets of mounts. Nice to see that the oil leak at the oil filter housing has stopped after replacing the gasket and o-ring/bushing. What was a bad oil leak is now completely dry. Also finally matched up the passenger side trim so now both sides match. Wifie says the handling is much better than what it was. She says she really likes it. Happy wife, happy life.
