Had the car dyno'd a few weeks ago and reclassed in NASA TT based on horsepower/weight. I can get it down to 2350# competition weight and stay in a competitive class, TTE.. Woohoo! Much better than taking points for weight reduction and ending up in TTD and getting spanked by turbo miatas.. | | | 03-16-2011, 05:08 AM | #1022 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | familytruckster, Please let us know what kind of difference the sport sway bars make in the feel and performance of your car. Has anyone else done this mod? Thanks. | | | 03-16-2011, 09:17 AM | #1023 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Bamberg, Germany Posts: 107 | Filled up with super gas and not that E10 crap that was all over Germany. Most of my German friends did not like E10. | | | 03-16-2011, 09:36 AM | #1024 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2010 Location: Fürth, Bavaria, Germany Posts: 156 | Yes, this is E10 crap is real sh*t... | | | 03-16-2011, 10:02 AM | #1025 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Bamberg, Germany Posts: 107 | I filled up twice with E10...only because it was the only thing on the post where I work. Just like in America it was never a good idea to take food and make it into fuel. | | | 03-16-2011, 01:52 PM | #1026 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2010 Location: Fürth, Bavaria, Germany Posts: 156 | Got the armrest back from my saddler. I just need to finish up the 3.73 and then it can go in. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 03-17-2011, 04:03 AM | #1029 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Quote: Originally Posted by jca familytruckster, Please let us know what kind of difference the sport sway bars make in the feel and performance of your car. I got used to it pretty quick, isn't horrible on my 150 mile commute on the crap roads in DC. Over rough high speed turns the car feels much more stable, the car doesn't rock like it used to. My other mods are H&R sport springs, Tokico Blues, Polyflex F&R control arm bushings. All other suspension replaced except swaybar to frame bushings-those are old stock ones. Stock wheels... __________________ No more ti. | | | 03-18-2011, 03:56 AM | #1030 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | Thanks for the information. Sounds like you get a lot bang for the buck. | | | 03-18-2011, 04:05 AM | #1031 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | I forgot to mention that I did the under the hood wiring for the installation of a set of OEM fog lights. The wiring diagram in the knowledge base section of this site was a big help. The only thing I would mention is that there is a pre-cut opening through the firewall on the passenger side up at the level where the carpet runs out. Take the battery and battery box out and opening is easy to spot. I'm using a nice, lighted switch from Radio Shack, rather that the OEM switch which looks like it would be difficult to install. Also, I won't bother with wiring to the fog light indicator light in the guage cluster, another hassle. | | | 03-19-2011, 03:57 PM | #1032 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: Northern Wisconsin Posts: 21 | I changed the thermostat, had no heat. I headed up there kinda late so I missed quite a lot of the fun but still got the chance for a photo op: you can just about make out the 318ti.org sticker! Where was the picture taken? | | | 03-21-2011, 12:36 AM | #1035 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2010 Location: Southwest England Posts: 379 | yeah, I love how I managed to squeeze the ti in the middle of all those much faster cars lol the pic was taken up on Dartmoor which is a nature reserve in the south west of England. Location roughly between Princetown and (ha!) Crapstone . It's quite unusual to get that much skyline without seeing electricity pylons in this country! Also relatively unusual for it not to be raining lol. I only took a couple of pics as I'd got there late and so quite a few of the cars had split up to find different spots for photo opportunities but at one point there was about 35 BMWs in convoy I posted a couple more pics here | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
