I can't find it in my Haynes book... I was wondering if anyone has done it. The problem is that as soon as I turn my fan on over 2, the air flow decreases in the middle two vents because the air is causing the flap to close. I need some way to tighten this up, and I need to remove the vents to get to this valve/flap. __________________ Silver 98 318ti Standard trans, Sport Package: 16" Stock Wheels, Foglamps, Sunroof, Heated Leather Seats, Bilstein performance shocks, OEM Sach's clutch kit, Dunlop SP Sport A2 225/50/16 tires, Alpine CDA 7894, Dual Rockford Fosgate 12" subs, Rockford Fosgate Amp, Leather Armrest, Replaced M44 engine with only 40k on it! http://www.geocities.com/evalha/bmwsmaller.JPG | | | 02-27-2006, 02:08 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by evalha007 I can't find it in my Haynes book... If you find one that matches the color of the vent you won't even think twice about it. Oh wait a second. a flap inside the vents or the vents themselves? __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-27-2006, 02:27 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: WA STATE Posts: 129 | I stuck a penny in it works for me and keeps the vent open. | | | 02-27-2006, 04:01 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Muncie, Indiana Posts: 1,551 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti Stick a guitar pick in there. Do you remember what guage pick you used? | | | 02-27-2006, 04:05 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by AlaskaBlue That is a genius idea! Probably a medium. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-27-2006, 05:38 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Plano Texas Posts: 206 | I just stuck a folded piece of paper in it. I found the best approach was to remove the glovebox and push it from the back while depressing tabs and pulling from the front. __________________ '99 ti /Mtechnic, Schwartz II, Meyle Control Arms w/Full Metal Ball Joints, PowerFlex poly LCAB's, Pirelli P Zero/Nero 225/50/16, "the d-baffle"...... | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
