Default crankshaft pulley holding tool

does anyone know where I can buy a crankshaft pulley holding tool and spacer for my 97 318ti m44? pelican parts just sells the multiple tool set without the spacer. I found another one on ebay but again it's only the tool not the spacer. any help would be appreciated. this is the last thing I need to do to finish my project. my wife is going crazy wanting her car back but I won't let her drive it till I finish tightening up the pulley bolt.

Search these on pelican:

TOL-3034-2 - Securing tool
83-30-0-490-884 - Spacer(s)

I pulled these from my old order as this is what I used. Not a kit like you were looking for, but I don't think I could find a kit either. Unfortunately, it looks like the spacer went up in price from a couple years ago. If you were closer, I'd let you borrow mine. Good luck though.

I looked it up and unfortunately it looks like the bar comes in a set of 3. I need only the one and also it looks like it won't be able to ship for a week and a half. I wish you lived or I lived closer to you too lol ! thanks anyways.

just got an update from pelican parts, seems as they have the bar I need in stock for 55.00. I'm going to go ahead and get that if they have a shim that will go with it. Pelican parts comes through again!!

I asked pelican parts if they had the shim for the TOL-3034-2 holding tool. they said no not at this time, but looking at the site online it lists a spacer ( the one you have ), for 60.59. is that the right spacer?

Yep, the spacer (Part #: 83-30-0-490-884) is what is listed on my previous order. Make sure you get some bolts for it. Here's a link that may work to the one off my order history:

I now see that there is another one listed (for $60.59). It looks the same as the one I bought.

I went ahead and bought the TOL-3034-2 and the Securing tool 83-30-0-490-884 - Spacer. the spacer was 70 bucks but shipped in a couple of days as opposed to the one that was 60 dollars and shipped in a week and a half. Thanks for all the help Biolite, I appreciate it. Will let you know if it all comes out ok. one thing, I can rent a torque wrench from autozone but it only goes up to 250 ft/lbs. how critical is it to torque the crank bolt to 300lbs?

Unfortunately, I don't have a good answer for that as I think I had one that went up to the specified torque. Hopefully someone else will chime in. I do remember having to put my feet on the wall in my garage to get the bolt tightened all the way, it's a rough one.

It is Feb 16th 2016, and I was just informed by Pelican Parts that BMW still hasn't located the adapter for the holding tool. They have everything else I need just sitting there in the warehouse waiting for the adapter to come in. They also told me if they have to go to Europe to find the adapter it will be a 20% charge extra and it might take weeks to get it. I'm screwed. Anyone else have any ideas ? This is getting ridiculous.
Also, does anyone have a picture that shows exactly where the secondary air injection vacuum container, the non return valve ( black and white check valve ), and the electric control valve are located at specifically on the m44 4 cyl 318ti ? I decided to replace all of them but I can't remember where they went. Too much time has past. Thanks in advance.

PM me your address and I'll send you my spacer and bolts. I think it'll fit in a USPS flat rate box. Just ship it back when you're done.

I was just about to make a for sale ad for those exact parts. I bought the M44/M42 Crank Holding Tool and Spacer from CirrusSR22 back in April of 2015. Used twice. I paid $77.xx shipped. Looking to get $70 + shipping.

Sorry it took me a bit to get back with you. I bought the holding tool from pelican parts but unfortunately they were unable to come up with the spacer. A kind person allowed me to borrow their spacer so I was able to complete my job. I of course have to send it back which leaves me without a spacer again. Would you consider selling just the spacer? let me know.

I can sell you both for the cost of the spacer at pelican ($60.59) + shipping. Would that work? You can sell the extra holding tool and recover some of the cost.
