Default Side View mirrors

Wondering if any of you has or are experiencing the following:

My side view mirrors have a stain or discoloration of some sort (looks almost beige in color) around the edges. The mirrors themselves are lightly tinted blue.

Also, how can you tell if they are heated? Is there normally a switch inside that you turn on to heat them?

Thanks!!

yes, they tend to discolor like that, pretty common.

i guess the best way would be to look at the number of wires that are used for the mirrors, believe the heated ones have something like 5, the non-heated use less.

Is there a remedy to this problem, other than the obvious...buying new mirrors?

not that i'm aware of. a guess would be that whatever they use for the tint starts oxidizing ... but it's just a guess.
