OK so I've hag my first BMW ,has been GREAT i pull into a parking lot and before i could shut it off it stoped and would not start. after about 10 mins of over looking oil, water, lines, hoses, i got back in and it started? i shut it off and went shopping the drive home it would just stop running 4 times in 6 miles,i noticed the RPM gauge with up real high and to zero like the car was off, and NOW THE CAR DID NOT REVE UP like the tach showed . but after like 30 secs it will restart run fine and then ,like it lost the coil pack or THIS IS WHERE I NEED HELP something else. any one ever have this , or since I'm new to this site maybe theirs a post i can be directed to?lost going to get a PN/ for the coil box( where the spark plugs go into )

Did you check if the rubber boot on the intake had a tear in it?

Check carefully between the ribs of the rubber.
