My dealer gave me a deal on this car. Include 1000 miles limited warrant on engine and transmission, with tax and reg fee around 4000$.
He told me the title is clear, vin is WBAHJ6329SGD25675

Can some friends here give me advices on this car? and, could you please do me a feavour to check the VIN? great thanks

A 95 automatic transmission stationwagon 525i M50 engine. So, how many miles? What is the physical condition? Does the dealer have the maintenance records? How many owners? Anything need fixing? Have you had a mechanic look at it?

We can't give you too much advice w/o more info and not all of us have access to carfax. However, KBB has it (with the default options) and mileage of 93000 in Excellent condition with a suggested dealer retail of $9355. So, if there is nothing wrong with the car and it meets those conditions. . .I'd say jump on it.

BTW. . . what is the name and phone number of that dealer?

Thank you sir, that car has a very high mileage, I am sorry I forget to mention it. it is 166440 miles on that car.

He replied my email to describe that car like this:

Our dealership inspections show the mileage represented on this vehicle to be accurate. I am sorry, I am looking for 318ti actually.. if you have read my post before, you will notice that all other posts are around such type.. i just got a deal from my dealer today, it is a 525ti.. sounds nice, and i need help, so i post the article here.

It's a 525i not a 525ti. Have you seen this vehicle? It does not look the same as a ti. KBB does not give a dealer value for anything less than excellent condition. However, the miles on the car did drop it by about $2k. The private party value for that vehicle in Good condition with that mileage is $5800. Still seems like a great deal for $4k.

However, you have to keep in mind that it's not a 318ti. I remember seeing a couple tis for sale in NYC a few months ago on autotrader. Have you looked there?

The 525iT is a midsize station wagon and the 318ti is a compact 2 door hatchback, huge difference between the vehicles. There is also a 323iT or something that is a compact wagon.

Vehicle condition is more important than mileage. A vehicle with 160k miles in good condition might still have 60k trouble free miles left. If you pay only $4000 for the vehicle and drive it 60k miles over 4 years and sell it for $2000 that is a very good deal, even if you spend a couple thousand in maintenance, it is cheaper than even an inexpensive new car. You can also get really bad deals on high mileage used cars. Have it inspected by a mechanic if you are serious about it.

Well. . . yes and no. If there are parts that break around 100k miles, even if the car is in excellent condition, i'd much rather buy the car with 120k miles and proof that these components were replaced.

My question had purpose. If you read his reply, you would see that he was mistaken in the model he was asking about. The point is, he was interested in a 318ti, but he was confused. There was nothing unpleasant in my question.
