I drove my friends ZHP. He was expecting that I would stall the first time. I did it all without instructions or anything. Shifted into second 2 without stalling. I have a little more to learn, but I think I did good for a first time I feel good! __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. I've drove a auto all my life. I was able to drive a manual without instructions on how to, and I pulled it off on the first try. Many people doubted that I could do it. __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. Not in 1st or reverse. The car was a 1964 VW Karmann Ghia. I had it hopping up and down quite a bit the first few tries. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 02-07-2009, 04:36 PM | #9 | Z3 Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Usa Posts: 660 | Shifting is fun... He stalled a couple of times and still doesn't know how gears and revs work, but I was definitely surprised. Overall, very nice. Just like anything else, it takes practice and getting used to. | | | 02-07-2009, 08:16 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Orange County, NY Posts: 1,067 | Quote: Originally Posted by L84THSKY I drive a manual car, motorcycle and bicycle..... | LOL. I stopped in at Mcdonalds to see if my friend (working there at the time) would let me borrow her Colt Vista wagon to go get some stuff from my house (ran out of clean clothes). After giving up on looking for reverse after nearly 5 minutes, I just put it in drive, and drove over a parking curb (coulda swore i had the clearance to make it). It got hung up on the curb and my other friend had to push the car because it was stuck. After I got out of te crowded parking lot , I stopped at a place where I could safely figure out WTF I was doing. After that I was fine, and never wanted to drive automatic again. Ahh, the good old days of being a terrible teenage thrillseeker __________________ WTB: 17 inch Milli Miglia MM-II's with proper fitment for a ti | | | 02-08-2009, 12:54 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | awesome now your left leg will feel completely useless everytime you drive your ti | | | 02-08-2009, 01:43 AM | #15 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: Pittburgh, PA Posts: 9 | congrats. My first car i bought for myself was a manual. Never drove a manual before that, just wanted to learn so i forced myself. Gives a better feeling of the car and not to mention on pretty much any older vehicle almost always had one more gear than an automatic. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
