Default New thread (sorry) 'cause urgent Clarification Needed E36 M3 LTW Flywheel

Hi guys,

Long story short - big project ongoing for months now... My 318ti with an M3 front suspension/Mroadster rear suspension... Got the motor to start and idle, now ran into a problem.

The flywheel I'm using is an F1 Racing flywheel for E36s, ebay special but looks good.

The clutch that it came with I decided against using, because it would cause a lot of chatter on idle and I dont want that in a DD. I went for an E34/E28 M5 clutch. Its a 240mm Sachs Unit.

The clutch was installed backwards and caused a few issues (not starting, noise without the clutch being pressed...)

Now that I have it out and the whole thing disassembled I want to MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE that this will work.

In short:
F1 Racing Aluminum Flywheel
M5 Clutch
E36 M3 pressure plate
E36 M3 TOB

If I put it in backwards as I should have form the get go, will this combo be OK?

I want to hear from someone who had done this or attempted to, no speculation please... I test fit the clutch, and when it is the CORRECT SIDE IN (backwards), it ends up fitting really well with clearance inside the flywheel recess.

I just want to verify that this is OK before going ahead and doing it - I'm 99.9999% sure its fine, but I want a peace of mind, because I relaly dont want to tell those guys to tear into it again.

Thanks y'all! Cant wait for the S52 goodness

Sorry about the comment about speculation (I know the 'ti.org guys dont do that ) - it was originally merant to be a bf.c post, and in my thread this is exactly what i was trying to avoid:

anyway, it looks like i'll just have to bear with it and report later on this.

Cheers,
Artem
