Default Seller's ethics

To each his own, but it seems unethical and sleezy to advertise an item cheaper somewhere else and then not honor the price. Especially when the fellow 318ti.org member/enthusiast was willing to pick it up in person.

FWIW, most of us share the "keep it in the family" attitude and offer the better deal to fellow 318ti owners and 318ti.org members. I almost always list things cheaper here than on craigslist, ebay or bf.c. In a few cases, people have emailed me or PM'd me on other forums inquiring that they seen my thread on 318ti.org asking if they can get the same deal to which I've always been happy to comply. The only exception is if it's something big that I don't want to hassle with boxing up and shipping. Under those circumstances, I usually list it as local pickup only or offer a slightly reduced asking price for local sales.

To offer something cheaper on craigslist for several months and then jack the price up for a 318ti.org member who's willing to pick it up locally? That just seems absurd to me. Only a complete dirtbag runs off of those ethics.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Logic is reversed. It was originally listed lower if it's the same on on CL.
Seller is free to do what he wants.
Don't say it's not worth $200, but obviously the seller thought it was worth less.

I believe it was initially listed much higher, but the original post was recently edited.

I think the seller lowballed himself and now that people are showing interest, he wants to get the most that he can for the item, which would be perfectly understandable IF nobody knew it was listed cheaper elsewhere and expected to pay the asking price.

$200 is a great price, but it's the principle that someone would trade their honor for 75 bucks.

I mean I've put penises in my mouth for crack rocks before, but those deals were sealed with a handshake.

Sellers ethics, indeed... I'm with Jesse here as well, who had proved himself honorable and fair-minded when it comes to buying/selling here on the forum and elsewhere.

FYI, I'm still dealing with the loser regarding my headunit, so he is likewise screwing his honor for $90.
