S52-swapped 332ti-track focused *SOLD* $7,000 VIN WBAC67322VA599052 Produced 4/97 Still (barely) street-legal, but built to be a quick, forgiving, budget track car that has run down MANY supposedly faster cars on track. The focus was on good power, light weight and capable brakes. The consumables (tires, brakes, fuel) are cheap due to relatively small size and light weight. It’s loud and stiff on the street, but it does still have air conditioning and a “finished” interior forward of the driver. It has always been driven to and from the track and has never failed to drive back home. It has run a 2:41 at Sebring while fighting through some handling issues. The lightly-modded S52 with nearly open exhaust sounds excellent on track. The current PFC-08 brake pads have held up great on track and don’t produce much noise on the street. The exterior is “decent.” The rear fender flaring was done long ago and has seen better days; it should be re-sanded/painted/whatever if you care about such things. There is some mild unevenness on the right, front quarter panel where it had a fairly gentle kiss of a tirewall (). Underneath there are some rusty spots (it lived up North early in its life) and the driver’s footwell has been replaced with new steel (and then both sides got aluminum floorboards to finish the inside). The interior is “decent” as well. Though most of the carpet and vinyl is gone, the aluminum surfaces all look good. No radio, so the only soundtrack is straight-six! The seats are just okay cheapies; it deserves better like I’ve had in it before. I haven’t even bothered to actually bolt the driver’s seat back in, yet! They do have cutouts for shoulder harnesses and have decent side bolsters. The driver’s side window is pulling out of the track and needs assistance when going up or down. There is a full-width harness bar, though I pulled my 5-point harnesses for another car (factory 3-points are still installed). The engine conversion and several Dinan upgrades were done professionally by Midwest MotorSport way back in 2001, and I have copies of the receipts. It just (September ’22) got an oil and filter change (Castrol Edge Euro 5w40), new spark plugs (NGK BKR6E) and a healthy compression check.
