Default Burnt Oil Smell

After running around this morning I put the 98 ti in reverse to back into the garage. As I was heading back the smell of burnt oil and barely visible smoke came out of the ventilation on the dash.

WTF?

No, it's only 66 degrees here.

Open up the hood.
Are there signs of oil on your exhaust header?
It can get there from a leaky valve cover gasket.

now that I think back, I did.

I ran the A/C yesterday and shut it off about a mile from the house. Backing into the garage, same thing, burnt oil smell coming from the vents.

I don't have any gasket leakage.

Probably bad valve seals that you are smelling after decelerating then reversing. My car does it pulling away from a standstill
