There will be loaner helmets.

"SATurday September 27th Autocross

We're back at the Bowie Baysox Stadium in Bowie, MD for this event.

Registration and tech inspection will be at 8:00 and will promptly close at 8:45 to try to accommodate the full field, while still giving 6 runs. You must be DONE by 8:45. So if you arrive at 8:00 you won't have a problem. Don't arrive at the last minute. If you don't get teched and registered by 8:45, you will lose your morning runs.

The event fee for the SATurday autocross is $25 for members and $35 for non-members at this event.

Reservations

Member reservations (or participants that will join the club upon showing up) for any events can be made at any time (see Schedule Section at www.capitaldrivingclub.com ). Open reservations for non-members for this event begin Friday September 19th.

Accepting New Members

We will also be accepting new members at this event. Annual dues are $30 (12 months from the date you join the club). This event will be the last time in 2008 that we will be taking new members. We will be on a membership freeze until further notice (probably until May 2009).

So if you are joining at this event, you may reserve your slot now. Just use “0” as your member number and type, “I will be joining the club at this event” in the Notes Section in on-line reservation system.

Otherwise, non-members must wait until Friday September 19th to make your reservation."

Word. Sounds like fun, and not that far away either.

I've never auto-x'd before, so hopefully they have some sort of beginner class...

There is no class, but there are "instructors" available. My suggestion is to find someone to ride with you for at least the morning session. If I'm available, I'd be happy to do it.

I'll get there nice and early to help anyone who wants to try. I'd love to get a few ti's out there.

Guys I don't mean to be a d-bag but can we keep this thread to people adding themselves to the list?

I am actually very interested in autocrossing also, Gimp could you make a new thread about it?

I'll be back in town by then, but I don't know if I'll be able to make that or not yet.

Hey all, I am fairly new to actually using this site and live in Hanover, MD (near the airport). Just wanted to add my name to the list of TIs in the area.

Cool! Check out http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=23792 for the next meet/photoshoot/cruise.

It would still be cool if there was someone else from VA, so we could change the name from MAR to um, something else...until then, I guess I'm one of the MD guys.

Bobby, just so you know, MAR stands for Mid Atlantic Region. Do you really think I would use a name that would exclude you? I got you covered.
