Always seemed through parts of SC that it was wide open. Right before I headed to Germany I was on I26 I think it was on down to Charleston AFB for my PCS move. They were going wide open there too! For the whole time I dated the same gal it was the same roads: I 95 south from NC to FL I95 to I 4 I 4 to I 275 on in to St. Pete Plenty of awesome roads to "test" the speed limit. I had an Acura CL type S and that car was fast. Many fond memories of those years. I actually met her while I was playing drums on tour all over. For those who have the chance I also recommend the following stretches of highway just for the experience: I 220 from Greensboro, NC through the George Washington Forrest in VA. Highway 64 around the Asheville, NC area on down to Hendersonville, NC US 1 straight on down to the keys! I35 from OKC on up to Wichita Highway 222 from Ephrata on up to Allentown | | | 01-15-2011, 07:23 PM | #32 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: nj Posts: 191 | i bought my ti in fl and drove it for the first time fl to ny hit 120 till my limiter kick in and i thought i blew up my engine. lol i might install a dinan chips in the future if my engine is still in good condition. 135k | | | 01-15-2011, 07:50 PM | #33 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Bamberg, Germany Posts: 107 | I was suprised how fast these cars go. Then again you go on the autobahn and sometimes you will get passed by station wagon and mini vans! | | | 03-05-2011, 06:27 PM | #34 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | i wasnt driving, but my bro and i hit 170 in his RPI M6 playing with a 03 or 04 cobra. ahha. there was literally no one on the road. be safe guys! But I was surprised how fast it will go from 70 to 100 mph in fifth gear for a 1.8L. | | | 03-15-2011, 11:37 PM | #38 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Quote: Originally Posted by gapl1953 Mine is new to me and I don't know what it will top out at. The speedos read ~5mph fast. __________________ No more ti. | | | 03-16-2011, 09:19 AM | #39 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Bamberg, Germany Posts: 107 | Quote: Originally Posted by familytruckster 116, it'll show around 120-121 though. Done at Pocono Raceway. The car didn't feel too stable and I don't think I'll ever try to exceed 155 again. | | | 03-16-2011, 07:02 PM | #41 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | Craziness! Back to the ti, interestingly enough the OBDII reader had the correct MPH, but the speedo doesn't. __________________ No more ti. If you want speed go do a track day !!!! Its more fun than you can buy anywhere... Couple hundred bucks gets you a day on track, instruction, and NO SPEED LIMIT! WHooHOoo Once you do it the street is just a way to get to the next track... No matter how experienced a driver you'll learn something! I took a friend to one, he had 20 years as a truck driver, he was real skeptical, but he even said he learned some stuff that he had never known that would help even driving his truck.
