Fitment was pretty good. I had to shim the back down about 1/8" in the center and then about 1/16" on the back corner. Other then that, all the holes lined up with the OEM holes. My seal was tore, so I pulled it out and sealed it with black caulk. I'm pretty sure you could just use the OEM seal and then use a sealant on the back side of the seal to ensure a leak free joint. This would make it look OEM on top. I don't think the stock seal alone would be leak free though. When I repaint the car, that will be how I change it anyway. | | | 06-10-2012, 12:41 AM | #2449 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | yesterday I put my intake back together, I needed to order a smaller filter to make my Dinan intake work with my Depo headlights, also put my new clear corners on and stuck the old ones on my track car. I also attempted to install my new Samco silicone intake boot, that was a fail. no one buy one of those, they're a huge waste of money today I put new Autolite plugs in my 95 ti and installed my new wink mirror on my track car, completely unnecessary for autocross but it sure looks cool | | | 06-10-2012, 02:23 AM | #2450 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Tulsa, OK Posts: 252 | ordered new left and right lower hood latches and a p/s reservoir __________________ 1996 318ti base: m44, 5 spd, lsd - 18x8 bremmer kraft wheels w/sumitumo tires 225/40R18 & bmw locking lug studs, 10mm spacers in rear, halo headlights, cold air intake, koni str.t struts and shocks w/mounts, h&r sport springs, serp belts, control arm & tie rod kits, front sway bar links, JVC kd-x50bt headunit w/ipod hook up in the glove box, alpine sps-500(front and rear), jl audio 10" powerwedge max, jl audio 250.1 amp, motor mounts, fuel filter, passenger side window motor, drivers lower window run, muffler hanger kit, various interior bulbs, left door striker/ajar switch, lower hood latches, changed from gray vinal to black leather shift and parking brake boots, m3 weighted shift knob, ngk-r spark plugs, magnecor spark plug wires(blue),new cabin micro-filters,new headliner & a-pillar mouldings, 5w20 synth-blend oil and filter, BG Ultra Guard syn. rear end fluid & ls additive, BG Syncro Shift II syn. manual trans fluids, stainless steel braided brake lines and dot 4 fluid, extra brake light mod, new p/s reservoir and rubber hoses need to do - fix door panels, paint job, MORE MONEY!! | | | 06-11-2012, 01:04 AM | #2451 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2011 Location: Fremont, CA Posts: 148 | Finally! Touched up a few rock chips. Dabbed OEM touch-up paint in them, went over them with 2000 grit wet sandpaper, then Meguiar's polish. Finished off with clay and a coat of wax. Also bought new spark plugs, valve cover gasket, bolt gaskets, spark plug gaskets, Magnacore 8mm wires, and cabin air filters. Oil supply grommet and new antenna grommet on order at local dealership. Little by little, I'm turning her into my dream car! __________________ Trixie Alpine White 1996 BMW 318ti Sport | | | 06-11-2012, 02:52 AM | #2452 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 06-11-2012, 03:20 AM | #2453 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Broomfield,Colorado Posts: 664 | Oh that is nice were did you get those I want that for my car, how many hp did that add Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2 | | | 06-11-2012, 04:28 AM | #2454 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | damn, Zippy needs a pressure wash | | | 06-15-2012, 10:48 PM | #2455 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Redondo Beach.CA Posts: 24 | took car to shop to take a look at the crackling noise coming from underneath, I had thought that it was the cat, turns out it was a lose o2 sensor. fixed that right up and now i know that my cat is still good however the mechanic kinda closed my driver door kinda hard with the window down and well, the stupid thing came off the tracks again. so I'll be working on fixing that window today for the 3rd time. anyone have any advice on this? Iv done the repair but I have noticed that I need to be extra careful closing the door when the window is down. If I slam it too hard I'll hear the rattle and that's bad news. When its up I can slam it as hard as I want and its fine though. edit~~oh yeah figured Id put up a pic of the car after fitting the new hood, thanks again zoner (still not sure if I want to paint it to match) Last edited by GoEz; 06-15-2012 at 10:51 PM. | | | 06-15-2012, 11:24 PM | #2456 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by GoEz took car to shop to take a look at the crackling noise coming from underneath, I had thought that it was the cat, turns out it was a lose o2 sensor. fixed that right up and now i know that my cat is still good however the mechanic kinda closed my driver door kinda hard with the window down and well, the stupid thing came off the tracks again. so I'll be working on fixing that window today for the 3rd time. anyone have any advice on this? Glad it worked out for you- a few weeks after I dropped it off, I discovered the alignment shims that were on it in the back seat of my truck- if you need to fine tune the alignment with the fenders, I can get those to you as well. Think I'm done for today. __________________ 1996 318ti base: m44, 5 spd, lsd - 18x8 bremmer kraft wheels w/sumitumo tires 225/40R18 & bmw locking lug studs, 10mm spacers in rear, halo headlights, cold air intake, koni str.t struts and shocks w/mounts, h&r sport springs, serp belts, control arm & tie rod kits, front sway bar links, JVC kd-x50bt headunit w/ipod hook up in the glove box, alpine sps-500(front and rear), jl audio 10" powerwedge max, jl audio 250.1 amp, motor mounts, fuel filter, passenger side window motor, drivers lower window run, muffler hanger kit, various interior bulbs, left door striker/ajar switch, lower hood latches, changed from gray vinal to black leather shift and parking brake boots, m3 weighted shift knob, ngk-r spark plugs, magnecor spark plug wires(blue),new cabin micro-filters,new headliner & a-pillar mouldings, 5w20 synth-blend oil and filter, BG Ultra Guard syn. rear end fluid & ls additive, BG Syncro Shift II syn. manual trans fluids, stainless steel braided brake lines and dot 4 fluid, extra brake light mod, new p/s reservoir and rubber hoses need to do - fix door panels, paint job, MORE MONEY!! | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
