The pricipal most of these work on is fooling the ECU into thinking the car is cold, which richen the fuel mixture up. On the BMW you can only really fuss with the air temp sensor. Messing witheth air flow meter is not as sure a deal.

NOt worth the money, better to build the thing yourself if you want to fiddle.
They are about 5 bucks tops to build.

You can use a voltage regulator chip and a adjustable resistor to adjust the signal voltage of a MAP sensor relative to its actual voltage. (Of course we have AFM so its not as easy) You can do the same on the O2 (Need to be very careful as it will cause a CEL.) The Air temp sender also can be done but often just causes trouble unless your mix is lean.

In my case my Jeep has a built engine (4 cyl) and I needed to tweak the MAP down almost .5 volts to get the mixture right with the cam and other work.

www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoMAPsensor.htm is how my MAP tweaker is built, I just followed the instructions...

In the long run OBDII BMW's your better off to buy the Dinan or Nick G chip....
