I am in the middle of one myself and you said the oil pump had to be run on e36 m42/m44 engines, is there anyway to get around this or will I just have to break down and I buy one? | | | 05-07-2011, 01:41 AM | #632 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Quote: Originally Posted by BoostedBmw Wow I have just been looking around the site and I read into this build and its amazing Johnboy! I run a V8 pump that is machined to fit my setup. No big deal your pump should be fine... You said a oil pump had to be run with the bottom mount turbo? Is there any way around this or will I just have to buy one?... Mine only lasted 500 miles then broke and caused all kind of issues. I removed it and run a straight line fromt he turbo into the top of the oil pan with a slight down angle. No issues for 24,500 miles... Don't use one it's just another thing to break and leave you stranded... Because I have already taped my oil pan a week ago and was hoping that they were both taped around the same place... | | | 05-09-2011, 04:11 AM | #637 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: Elkhart, IN Posts: 128 | subbin | | | 05-09-2011, 05:05 PM | #638 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Red circle is where I tapped mine. I would go higher if you can so the dump is not in oil when the pan is full. | | | 05-10-2011, 06:27 AM | #639 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: Huntsville,AL Posts: 6 | John thanks so much I went ahead and did something similar to that... I run the stock DME with modifed code so I have full BMW function. It is the best running code I've run and I've been turbo for 2 years. Barrie at Mid-Night Tuning did my code. | | | 05-12-2011, 02:17 AM | #641 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: Huntsville,AL Posts: 6 | Hahahaha alright john thanks thats good to know... I have family in fort lauderdale | | | 01-18-2012, 07:02 PM | #645 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Yes I'm in Gulfport, FL. Been here 11 years. My free install is going in the car the last week of January for the winner on 318ti (yoda). I have no problem helping you or doing the install but I will not be offering free installs moving forward. I will allow anyone to use my tools, cherry picker and driveway for free and questions or guidance is always free. I have everything for a install as far as tools go but you will owrk on your back if under the car at my house (No Car Lift) What I'm saying is I don't want to install more turbos for free, I'm in real estate for a living. Also what kind of turbo kit and what is missing? What type of manifold? Thanks, John S Last edited by xxxJohnBoyxxx; 01-18-2012 at 07:14 PM. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
