Default Carbon Fiber Hood Fit?

Will any E36 aftermarket carbon fiber hood fit on my
98 318ti? All the ones I ever see listed say E36/M3.

I think it might have to be a 4DR hood. Pretty sure. Did you find a good deal on one?

I made a comment about his Windows XP shirt in another thread. I suppose I had it coming.

My Carbon Fiber hood from Ground Dynamics should
be here around Wed! Cant wait. I got the OEM hood
rather than the Euro one with all the gay scoops.

How much did you end up getting it for, and from where? I need a new hood too.

I acctually ended up not getting it, it would of been $850
from Ground Dynamics, but they screwed up the shipping,
and lied about having it in stock so I got my money back.

i figured instead of starting a new thread, i will ask here. so all 4dr 328 hoods that are the same year will fit our cars? wounder why they never tell us that on our websites.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33646

seems cheap, its VIS. i heard alot of bad from the company, but also alot of good. to prevent fading, can you just clearcoat it a few times?

i am just looking for a cheap one. also, i found a new one that has an imperfection for $380 shipped on a website, fits 4dr e36, 92 - 98.

just want to make sure before i go to far into it. haha.

also, i know you do not use the old shocks, and then use hoodpins, right? so bascily just remove everything, latch, springs, shocks?

any info would be awesome. i might be fixing up a car with a messed up hood, and this would be cheaper and better then replacing the hood. haha.

all E36 sedans and the ti use the same hood regardless of year, only reason it's not on most websites is because they may not even know the ti exists

I don't know about VIS, but I know Carbon8 hoods have the holes drilled in them for the hood latches, my car has perfectly functioning hood latches. I do have to disconnect the shocks when I close the hood to prevent it from bending the hood, but I left them installed since I use them as hood props

I have a VIS, got it blemished for 350(picked up) it had the required hardware to just reinstall the latches and such. I left the shocks connected, but I am thinking about removing them because they are starting to make the hood fold a little, but overall, the fitment is nice. of course its the sedan hood... I tried to match up my old m3 coupe hood just to see, and its much different.

does anyone know the legal point of view for using carbon fiber hoods? since it changes how the car crumbles together, it might not be legal? it seems to be in the gray area, but not sure. i was just wondering. tried to google it, but no one said for sure.

the hood's not structural, there's nothing illegal about running one
