Default Help determining a differential

Hey all,

I have two differentials that are already removed from the cars. I thought they were both open, but one might be posi/lsd and i wanted help determining. The reason I ask is one spins in the same direction while the other spines in opposite directions. No S on either.

The one in question is a 4.44 from a 97 auto. The tag reads 444v7092

When you spin one side, the other sides spin in the same direction.

From the previous differentials I sold, this should indicate that this is posi/lsd. I dont have the vin of the car anymore, its been awhile since I had it.

The other is a 3.45 from a 96 manual, and it spins in opposite directions.

Any reason why these too differentials act different but neither indicate why? Is there a way to tell the difference if I open them? if so, what am I looking for? thanks in advance
